✨ Gentle support for your postpartum journey

I’m offering warm, nurturing support to new mothers and families in and around Mitcham, VIC (Eastern suburbs).

My aim is to help you feel rested, cared for, and never alone as you settle into life with your little one. Even a few hours of support can make those early days feel lighter and more peaceful.

I’ve been a professional reflexologist since 2003, supporting women’s wellbeing for over 20 years. This experience naturally complements my postpartum care, helping mothers find comfort, calm, and gentle recovery after birth.

Feel free to reach out anytime if you have questions.

Rohatsu 臘八 literally means 8th day of the 12th month in Japanese, a significant day in Zen Buddhism. It commemorates the enlightenment of Siddhartha Gautama who became the Buddha, the Awakened One on this day. In other Mahayana traditions of Buddhism, it is known as Bodhi Day.

This is a well known Buddha in Japan located in Kotuku-in temple in Kamakura in Japan, belonging to the Jodo Shu sect. The Kamakura Daibutsu is a copper image of Amida Butsu (Amitabha Buddha), 11.3 metres tall and weighing 121 tons. Construction began in 1252 and he was originally enshrined in a Daibutsuden Hall but the building was destroyed in typhoons in 1334 and 1369, and then an earthquake in 1498.

Listening to Hyakuten Inamoto Sensei is always a gift, and studying Komyo ReikiDo with him in a seminar setting is even more profound. From June 16–22, 2026, Inamoto Sensei will be offering an immersive residential training and retreat in his hometown of Kyoto. The venue sits near the foothills of Mt. Hiei, away from the busyness of the city, creating an ideal environment for participants to fully absorb the essence of Komyo ReikiDo. It’s a place where Reiki’s timeless wisdom and philosophy can truly be experienced in the land where it first emerged.

Spiritual practice is not fixed to sitting in meditation. It can be whatever fits for you. It can be walking; it can be sweeping; it can be drinking tea. There are endless possibilities of meditative practice. Many think sitting in meditation is the only way, and if they fail at their expectations, they give up. There are two paths that you can take. Manage your expectations or find some other way to practice. Whatever you choose, the path you take can evolve into so much more.

Yesterday, an early morning zazen session at a Rinzai Zen temple, Enkoji. Zazen, work practice (cleaning the zendo), walking and breakfast. It is different from Soto Zen practices. The mudra while sitting, the walking is quite fast, and eating was fast. It is interesting to note the differences but all leading to the same thing, non-thinking or bypassing the intellectual mind or ego.

In the Reiki Principles, they are pointing to the same thing. In Komyo ReikiDo, our practice motto is surrender. Again, pointing to the same thing. Whether we are meditating or doing household chores, the practice of letting go of the intellectual mind is possible. And why do we want to bypass our busy minds? Because what is underneath all the thoughts, is a very peaceful place. It is a place of calm we can access when a reset is required.

Reiki Shares in Kyoto have always been special. Visitors from overseas, initiated into Reiki from any lineage or those who are interested in Reiki, are welcomed by Inamoto Sensei.

Here a Usui Shiki Ryoho group on a pilgrimage from the USA and Netherlands and a representative of KRD in Thailand and from Belgium.

Two days ago in Ena, I stayed at Totaro ryokan, run by 3 sisters. Emi and Junko are pictured at the Chokokuji temple, where zazen was arranged. However, something was a little lost in translation 😁. I was asked to write on an envelope in hirogana, kanji (donation/offering), and katakana (my name). I practised first on separate pieces of paper before writing on this envelope. Money was placed inside.

My perception was joining a group of people for zazen, but I was the only one. Anyway, the Abbot was a lovely man, trained at Eiheiji with his temple being affiliated to Eiheiji.

The Abbot spoke of meditation as not being goal orientated. That is, zazen is just sitting, nothing more, and with this sitting, one becomes more passive. Positively passive.

The morning zazen was something unexpected but positively passive 😁 This trip continues to bring many surprises, connections, and blessings.

I have been wanting to visit Eiheiji temple in Fukui Prefecture for a long time. Last year, I visited Koshoji temple in Uji, the first training monastery in Soto Zen Buddhism, so I wanted to visit Eiheiji this year. Dogen Zenji, the founder of Soto Zen Buddhism, founded the 'Temple of Eternal Peace' in 1244. I was lucky enough to hear some chanting while I was there. Even though this temple is out of the way of normal tourist routes, it is well worth the visit, feeling deep peace and the beauty of this place.

Kuonji Temple in Minobu. I attended a 5am Buddhist service with sutra chanting and Taiko drums. The grounds and temple buildings were beautiful. And, did I go up those stairs? That would be a 'no'. Way too steep.

Another 2 mornings to feed the soul at Kuonji before departing on Monday, heading to Kyoto.
