A Special Easter Message from Our CEO, Nicholas Marks

This Easter, we’re honoured to share a blog that takes us back to the earliest voices of resurrection worship. Discover the beauty of The First Hymn Project—a reflection on one of the oldest known Christian hymns, carrying the awe and reverence of the early Church.

In his Easter message, Nicholas reminds us that resurrection isn’t just a day—it’s a way of living in hope and thanksgiving.

Let this Easter season inspire stillness, praise, and worship as we celebrate the triumph of life over death and light over darkness.

Wishing you a joyful and blessed Easter from all of us at aifc.

"The culture is, as a woman, you need to be everything and do everything to play these roles in work life and within the community, and I found this road led to emptiness and selfishness.

At the time that I enrolled, I couldn't even tell you why aifc because I had to answer that to question to so many people around me, but when I was in it, I knew exactly why God wanted me here."

"One of the most surprising parts of this journey was discovering that before we could help others heal, we had to face our own stories. Many of us came into this course thinking we were here to learn how to support other people — only to realise that God had some healing to do in us first.

There were moments when a lecture, a reading, or a class discussion touched something deep inside — something we didn’t even know was still tender. It’s amazing how God uses learning to gently uncover the places we’ve tucked away. Psalm 139:23–24 became real for many of us:
“Search me, O God, and know my heart… see if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”

We found ourselves unpacking old wounds, confronting patterns we didn’t realise were shaping us, and learning to extend grace to ourselves in the same way we hope to extend it to others. Some days felt like therapy disguised as homework. Other days felt like God whispering, “Let’s deal with this together.”

Most people don’t burn out all at once.

It builds slowly.

Carrying more than you were meant to.
Saying yes when you needed space.
Holding things together for everyone else.
Until one day, you realise…
you don’t have much left to give.
Emotional exhaustion isn’t just about being busy.
It’s about carrying too much for too long.

There is a better way to care for others—
one that is actually sustainable.

Our seminars are underway in Brisbane and Sydney.

This morning’s session explored how Christ forms us most deeply in the very places we are least like Him — the areas that challenge us, stretch us, and invite transformation.

If you’re with us today, we’d value hearing your reflections on the first session.

We’re looking forward to connecting with everyone in Melbourne and Perth next Friday.
