When I first was learning yoga (50+) years ago, I just wanted to loosen my hamstrings and open my hips. It took me some time to realise there was so much more to yoga: pranayama, meditation, relaxation, yoga nidra. I discovered I needed to foster more strength than suppleness as I was already flexible.
