I find it difficult to know what to share while supporting clients who don’t share my values, Jeff does this well. While this isn’t the US, people in Australia are being way more vocal about their bigotry, including in the therapy space. My personal and professional ethical code doesn’t allow me to discriminate.

I was listening to an interview with Rosie O’Donnell on the No Filter podcast today and liked what she said about empathy. There area lot of people, myself included, who feel strong emotions about things happening to strangers in far away places.

Rosie talked about crying over the Vietnam war as a child, when other people can put a wall up. Her therapist explained it as some people have windows with fly screens, glass, curtains, blinds, sometimes shutters, but Rosie always has her windows open.

I like that analogy.
