Does your child need an OT in 2026?

Our Occupational Therapists focus on the skills that make daily life run smoother for kids and families.

These include building regulation, confidence, and practical habits that support getting ready, learning, play, friendships, and winding down too.

We take a family-centred, neuroaffirming approach and tailor support to what matters most to you.

The best first step is a parent-only session 👥

Visit our website to enquire. We’ll share our intake outline, expected timing for 2026, and let you know what’s helpful to bring to your first appointment 😊

Before we meet your child, we meet you!

Our parent-only session is simply a calm, practical chat with one of our OTs to understand day-to-day life, what’s already in place, and what matters most to you and your family 💭

It gives you space to share the wins, worries, and hopes for the year ahead so we can shape therapy around your child, not the other way around.

This includes:
• Reviewing home, school and community routines
• Talking through what’s working (and what is not)
• Setting up a clear goals list for the year together
• Completing a sensory checklist to guide the plan
• Agree on roles: What we’ll do in clinic and what you’ll practise at home for carryover

Feel free to have a look through our website to see whether we seem like a fit for your family goals 😊

Between school pick-ups, homework, or dinner, 5 quick minutes of simple rhythm can work wonders!

Sit together, find a steady beat, and tap along 🎶

Copy each other, swap leaders, try fast then slow, loud then soft. No drum? A container and wooden spoons do the job nicely.

A short burst of rhythm is fast, fun and grounding!

It gives little bodies the right kind of sensory input, builds turn-taking, and listening skills — (and helps everyone settle before the next part of the day) 🙂

Drum Jungle is back these school holidays!!

For parents who haven’t heard — Drum Jungle is a music group for kids that builds real-world skills 🎶

It’s a therapist-designed music class for kids to explore their inner-rhythm, movement and turn-taking in a fun and structured way.

It’s perfect for kids who love to move, need extra sensory input, or find participating in groups tricky.

Group music and rhythm activities have shown to boost self-regulation, attention, social skills, inner-confidence, and mental wellbeing.

Upcoming sessions (Modbury North, SA):
• Monday 29 September, 10.30–11.30 am
• Thursday 9 October, 2.30–3.30 pm

Feel free to join one or both — spots are limited.

NDIS participants welcome | Open to all abilities 🥁

What’s in store: small group, clear routine, shared percussion instruments, movement breaks, and simple home ideas you can use after the session!

Message our team to give your child a wholesome new way to express their joy and excitement 🎵🔆

Starting OT with us is simple and parent-friendly.

First off, we will ask you to attend a parent-only session with one of our OTs to talk through your child’s strengths, challenges, and goals.

Together, we’ll map a clear and sustainable plan!

Parent-only sessions forge a stronger partnership between therapists and parents—which is why we follow a family-centred model ✔️

The next time you book, we will get to meet your child. Sessions are interest-based and fun, think tunnels, games and problem-solving — all whilst building real-world skills.

We will also show you how to translate the same strategies at home and within the community 🤗

During our Book Week dress up, Bradley proudly emerged, ready for his heroic action photo (and then for battle!) 🛡️

We adore the effort and creativity put into his Link from The Legend of Zelda costume for Book Week.

And of course, hats off to Bradley’s parents too 👏🏼

We’re Celebrating Speech Pathology Week 🗣️

This year’s theme: Impact through communication.

“Speechies” help Australians connect every day at home, school, in hospital, and in the community 👏🏼

Our amazing speechie, Helen, leads the way with years of experience and calm, practical problem-solving. When things get hard, she explains what’s happening and keeps families clear on what to do.

Although Kai is early on in his speech pathology career, he brings a unique perspective, fresh ideas, and a great attitude towards learning and growing!

This week we’re shining a light on speechies everywhere and the outcomes they produce:

Connection, confidence, empowerment, inclusion, growth, opportunity, wellbeing, and independence.

Yes, we take your child’s needs seriously…

But, we also believe therapy works best when the grown-ups aren’t afraid to have a little fun too 😄

When children feel safe, they flourish — and it all begins with relationships built on trust, care, and plenty of laughs.

8ST is where progress and play go hand in hand!

As our team continues to grow, we’ll have plenty more photos with our newest additions to come.

Why Parents Choose to Book an ASD Assessment

Sometimes, as a parent, you sense that something feels different—but it’s hard to put your finger on it.

You might notice your child finding change too overwhelming, struggling in social settings, or reacting strongly to certain sensory inputs...

These observations are most often what compel parents to explore booking an autism assessment.

It’s not about labels. It’s about understanding how their children experience the world, gaining a sense of clarity, and discovering how to support them best.

Common reasons for an assessment include:

🔍 Finding clarity — Understanding why your child interacts or behaves in certain ways helps you, your family, and your child make sense of what’s going on.

📋 Accessing support — A formal assessment can open doors to crucial services, funding, schooling accommodations, or tailored guidance.

🔆 Tailoring care — With insights into your child’s strengths, sensory sensitivities, and challenges, therapists can create personalised strategies that truly make a difference.

💬 Peace of mind — Whether your child receives a diagnosis or not, the process brings clarity, direction, and can be the start of significant, informed support.

Our ASD assessments (for kids aged 2–18) are designed to give you insights and next steps, with multi-disciplinary guidance every step of the way.

*No referral required.

Head on over to our autism assessments page to see what’s involved and how we approach each stage 😊
