What is usually seen by the eye as the problem is usually the compensation for the real issue. I was called out to this horse as she was stepping short in her OS hind.

Monkey 🐵 see monkey do!!! When you turn around after grooming your horse to see your youngest daughter performing some of your own methods to make her pony feel more comfortable 😍. Equine massage is important for improving a horse’s physical health, mental well-being, and athletic performance. It is used as both a preventative measure and a complementary therapy for existing issues not to mention its also a great way to bond with your horse.

A recently retired thoroughbred. He had 3 starts then a spell. During his comeback he’d jack up and pull out left. He was retired on that note! On another note before his session he weight beared left, his ribcage dropped away to the right and he was contracted in his flanks and rotated in his pelvis laterally right and cranially on his right. Today he walked off with a swagger 🥰

Have you ever wondered why your horse may feel amazing one day and then off the next? We all know horses can have silly paddock accidents that can leave them sore but silly stumbles under saddle can be just as bad. This fella stumbled on a trail ride and landed on his head compressing his neck. His owner did the smart thing and had him checked before riding again. Before and after - one session.

Wet days are for checking in on the ponies at home. My daughter competed Gypsy last weekend and it was obvious she wasn’t feeling her usual self. She was rushing, preferred to be in canter over trot, was fussy with her head and bit and has been holding her tail flagged. I’d also seen her rubbing her head and neck a lot of the wooden fences and she was head shy. I found her to be very tight and restricted in her poll, neck and shoulders. She also held tension in her back and in her left stifle. Happy to report Gypsy is back to loving the attention and especially a rub on her forehead 🥰

A little TLC for this little stallion after a hind end accident 3 months ago. A full body static and dynamic assessment and bodywork before he starts work with his rider under saddle.

Today’s session was a 3yr old TB. As part of his preparation at his new race stable I was asked to check him over as they had some concerns. He had stability issues and unsoundness in his gait. I found him to be restricted through his neck and shoulders, pectorals and trapezius muscles and extremely tight over his wither and back and pelvic attachments. Today’s session I was able to release this tension and shift his weight back to his hind end so he was no longer so heavy on his forehand. His stability returned and he became sound within his gait. The change in his eye is my favourite outcome 🥰
