Important Asthma Management Update 🫁

New Australian asthma guidelines have changed how we manage asthma for people over 12 years old.

Salbutamol (blue) inhalers should NO LONGER be used as solo treatment for asthma.

Why? Using a blue puffer-only approach doesn't address the underlying inflammation in your airways and can lead to poorly controlled asthma.

We now recommend combination preventer-reliever therapy for better asthma control and reduced risk of flare-ups. It means one puffer for both when you need it, and also to prevent your asthma from getting worse.

If you or someone you care for uses a blue puffer as their only asthma treatment, it's time to chat with your doctor or our one of our Pharmacists about updating your asthma management plan.

🦟 Mosquito season is approaching - are you protected?

With warmer weather and recent rain, mosquitoes will be more active soon. Japanese Encephalitis vaccination is now available at our pharmacy.

Good news for our community:

✅ ALL Cabonne residents are eligible for FREE JEV vaccination.
✅ Safe for the whole family (able to administer for 5 years + by our pharmacists)
✅ Takes 2-4 weeks to develop full protection

What you need to know:
• Vaccine is FREE for all Cabonne residents
• $20 administration fee applies
• Book in with us through our website
• Especially important if you work and spend time outdoors, work in a piggery or directly with mosquitoes

🌞 National Skin Cancer Action Week Reminder 🌞

We are getting lots of questions about sunscreen, so here is your sunscreen checklist for maximum protection with the warmer weather now here

✅ Check the expiry date. Expired? = less effective.
✅ Check consistency. Separated or changed texture? Time for a new one
✅ Choose SPF 30+ for proper protection
✅ Reapply every 2 hours (more often if swimming/sweating)
✅ Use 1 teaspoon per body part. It's more than you think!

What a special Saturday visit! 💕

The lovely Nancy Campbell popped her head into the pharmacy last weekend, and what a treat that was! Nancy worked right here at Molong Pharmacy back in the 1950s when Colin Powell was the owner.

She shared a few pharmacy stories with us and seemed to have a connection to just about every local who walked through the door while she was visiting. She was more than happy for a selfie with us for social media, she knew everyone is on there now!

Meeting Nancy and having a chat was truly special. It's such a privilege to be an owner and to work here, knowing we're part of a legacy that has served our community for many years, and will continue to for many years to come.
