Adjustments for the shoulder?

Here are three ways we can adjust the shoulder itself, as well as the sternoclavicular joint, which is involved in shoulder movement.

01/12/2025

Three key muscles to release if you have shoulder pain!

1) Infraspinatus: part of the rotator cuff, when you have bad posture or poor shoulder control this muscle gets over stretched and over worked.

2) Rhomboid: one of the main stabilisers of the shoulder blade, another muscle that gets irritated when our shoulder is in a poor position.

3) Upper Trapezius: this muscle loves to get involved in any and every issue involving the upper back, shoulder or neck!

Do you have shoulder pain that just won’t go away?

Making sure the joints around the shoulder have proper movement can help to reduce pain, improve function and get you to a place where strengthening the shoulder becomes easier!

The sternoclavicular joint is an often overlooked part of the puzzle, and dysfunction here can cause painful compensations in the shoulder itself.

Shoulder pain that just won’t go away?

Here is a look at some of the techniques used to help relieve pain and tension in shoulder injuries.

1) Adjustments: encourage joint mobility and stimulate near ending around the joint

2) Drop piece: a style of adjustment that allows for quicker movement, getting past stiffness in the surrounding muscles

3) Dry needling: encourage blood flow to the muscle and relive tension

4) Active release: encourage sliding of the muscle and fascia to reduce pain and allow smoother movement
