✨Skin Priming ✨

Let’s talk about priming your skin for treatments. We don’t mean the primer you use in your makeup routine but a skincare routine used to get the skin ready for treatment.

The main goals of skin priming are to:
◽️ Thin the outer layer of the skin (Allows deeper pe*******on of peels etc)
◽️ Reduce excessive skin inflammation
◽️ Reduce the chances of post inflammatory hyper pigmentation.
◽️ Reduce likeliness of adverse effects and promote quicker healing post treatment

Skin priming usually is done 2-4 weeks before undergoing a skin treatment. Priming usually involves SPF, Latic or Salyclic Acid, Vitamin A or Niacinamide .

So next time your in the clinic, know we are just trying to maximise the safety and effectiveness of your treatment. We aren’t talking about skincare for no reason or to just sell to you.. we genuinely care for your skin.

✨What you need to know about tanning ✨

There is so much we can tell you about the harm of tanning but we narrowed it down to our top 6.

There is absolutely nothing healthy about a sun tan. The risk of Unprotected sun exposure include sun burn, Melanoma and Non Melanoma skin cancer formation. All it takes is a UV of 3 and above, to elicit sun damage. This is something you can check daily on the sun smart app.

Here at naturally beautiful we take a strict sun protection approach. All our patients when undergoing treatments need to be sun conscious. Protective Measures such as sunglasses,sun hats , sunscreen and other protective clothing are a must. The risk of adverse outcomes is immediately higher when treating unprotected skin with light based devices or other treatments.

✨Anti-Wrinkle Before & after ✨

Dr Botros has waved her magical injectable wand again and delivered these amazing results!

This patient was concerned with the amount of movement in the forehead, that was resulting in line formation that made her look tired and angry.

Dr Botros used anti wrinkle injections to smooth the lines and relax the muscles. You can see in the before picture, the patient is raising their eyebrows but in the after they are unsuccessful at trying to do the same.

After a couple of treatments with IPL & tightening up the skincare routine .. the results are in and are amazing!

✨ Acne Before & Afters ✨

This patient came into clinic concerned with her acne. She was getting big painful breakouts and didn’t want to go down the roaccutane route.

We are only in the middle of our treatment plan and there is still some more progress to be made, but these results are so good!

By starting on Dr Botros’s Acne skincare routine and having a few microdermabrasion treatments, we were able to achieve this. The next step is Chemical Peels & LED and possibly, some Venus Viva for any scarring left over.

✨ Changing your pillowcase ✨

When was the last time you changed your pillow?

We often focus on doing our skincare routine and keeping healthy but neglect the biggest skin aggravator.

Your pillowcase has pretty close contact with you. This means, plenty of chances for critters and bacteria to get comfortable and do some damage to your hair and skin.

Your laying in oils, dirt & sweat which build up on the pillowcase and can create acne. Dirty pillows become a nice haven for bed bugs and dust mites.

The list of things that build up on the pillow and can create damage is endless.

Aim to change your pillowcase on a weekly basis.

✨Top Skin Sins ✨

With the arrival of 2023, we thought it’d be appropriate to give you some inspiration in setting your New Years resolution.

There are things we often neglect because we are tired or we think we they aren’t important. We complied a list of some our top skin sins.
1. Not removing your makeup before bed. Your skin needs to breathe and needs to soak up the goodness of your skincare routine.
2. Not being consistent with your skincare routine. Similar to exercise, results are only achieved with consistent use & not once every few weeks.
3. Not Moisturising after serum application. The skin needs hydration and strength.
4. THE BIGGEST SIN OF THEM ALL- not wearing spf or using spf but not reapplying throughout the day. The UVs are out everyday and will damage your skin amongst other things. There’s no point in doing anything else in your skincare routine if you don’t use spf.

✨Rosacea Before & After ✨

This gorgeous patient came into the clinic originally pre covid, concerned with her rosacea. We were only able to get one IPL session in before lockdown. The Rosacea was fully flared up for the whole of lockdown. Fast Forward to now, we have done one stronger IPL session & the results are in!

She’s no longer flaring up as much and is able to go out without makeup on.

This gorgeous patient initially came into see Dr Botros concerned with acne like breakouts & the facial redness. Dr Botros educated the patient on rosacea and created a treatment plan that included topical prescription creams, anti inflammatory & skin resorting skincare as well as IPL treatments.

This is the result 6 weeks after the patients first IPL treatment & skincare changes.

Rosacea treatment is not just one treatment. It involves a combination of different things to achieve control and improvement of the rosacea.

This patient came into us concerned with her rosacea. She had never done anything for it before .. not even skincare.

This patient introduced Dr Botros’s skincare into her routine and underwent an IPL session for her rosacea.

This is the result of one IPL session. This patient will need more sessions as rosacea is a chronic inflammatory skin condition but so far, the improvement is amazing.
