At Monty Osteo, we educate that your healing isn’t always obvious.

Sometimes, progress looks like:
✅ Recovering faster after a flare up
✅ Moving with less fear
✅ Sleeping better
✅ Learning about your triggers
✅ Having fewer “bad” days

Often - the biggest shift is simply this:
You stop worrying over every small sensation and start to trust your body again.

Progress isn’t always feeling 100%. It’s sometimes:
👉 More confidence
👉 Improved capacity, and
👉 Less fear

Healing is not often linear, but small progress is still progress.

Question for you:
How many times have you blamed your “poor posture” for your back pain?

Here is the thing the most people get wrong

Pain ≠ damage

If your neck or back starts aching when you are sitting at your desk, it’s not because something is “damaged”

It’s your body waving a little red flag saying
“Hey, we have been here for too long. Time to move”

The truth is - there is actually minimal evidence linking “poor posture” directly to back pain.

So instead of worrying about sitting perfectly upright:
➡️ Shift positions
➡️ Take breaks
➡️ Move your body

Because your best posture, is your next posture.

And if those “warning signs” are popping up more often than usual?
Might be time to make an appointment with your Osteo 🫶

April is Osteopathy Awareness month, and let’s be real - most people think Osteopathy = backs and necks

And while yes, we do treat those - there is a whole lot more we can help with that often flies under the radar

From jaw pain -> breathing mechanics -> migraines -> pregnancy support…

Your body is more connected than you think.

And that’s exactly how we look at it.

If something has been feeling “off” - don’t overthink it.

Monty Osteo turns ONE this week!

Grateful for the Monty community for welcoming us with open arms. Even though most people were happy we weren’t another cafe, convenience store or hairdresser 😆

To everyone that has supported us in our first year, whether it be existing or new patients, a referral or just cheering for us on social media - we thank YOU.

Nobody really tells you how many jobs you have when you become a business owner

Some days you’re the Osteo.
Other days you’re the admin.
The social media manager.
The cleaner, IT department, problem solver.

And when the business is still young (hello year one! 👋) you wear ALL the hats

It can be tough, messy and overwhelming at times

But also - incredibly special and rewarding 🥹

I think of that kinder kid - she would probably look around and say “wait - we own a business?”

And I think she would be pretty proud.

To everyone that has supported Monty Osteo over the past year - whether you have come in for treatment, recommended us to a friend or simply follow along here - thank you.

Being a part of the Monty community means the world to us 🤍

If your pain has been hanging around for 6+ months - we are not judging you.

If you were give exercises once upon a time and they’ve been… lovingly ignored - we are not telling you off.

If nothing dramatic happened - no big injury moment, but you just feel off - that’s valid too.

Let’s be real.

Most people don’t book because
👉 The think it’s “not bad enough”
👉 They feel embarrassed it’s been there this long
👉 They can’t pinpoint what’s wrong
👉 They think we are going to lecture them

This is what we want you to know:
Pain doesn’t have to be dramatic to deserve attention.
And your body doesn’t need a headline worthy injury for you to book in.

Our job is to understand what’s going on so we can help you move better, feel better and get back to doing life properly.

If you have been thinking about booking but hesitating - take this as your sign

We have been having a lot of conversations lately about “putting up with pain” or being told nothing can be done 😳

And honestly, it hurts to know that so many people still carry this belief 😢

Let’s clear something up ⬇️

Having a chronic condition doesn’t automatically mean you have to live in constant pain or stiffness.

While we cant make the condition itself “disappear”, what often happens is that the side effects of that condition - things like reduced movement, muscle tension, altered loading, or protective patterns - are what may contribute to ongoing discomfort.

And those things?
They can often be managed 🫶

At Monty Osteo, we focus on helping your body move and function as well as it can within the reality of your condition.

✨ That may look like:
👉 Manual therapy to support movement and comfort
👉 Rehab to improve strength, mobility and confidence
👉 Education so you understand what is happening in your body
👉 A long term management plan that fits your life

This isn’t about pushing through or pretending pain doesn’t exist, it’s about understanding it - and supporting your body so pain isn’t running the show.

If you have ever been told you have to live with it:
This is your remember that this isn’t always the case.

Has your Osteo ever given you an exercise and it’s left you confused? Stretch this but strengthen that? 🤷

Let us explain this a little further.

A muscle that presents as “shortened or tight” ➡️ stretch

A muscle that has been strength tested and shows that its “weak” or has a loss of power ➡️ strength

To add to the confusion - a joint that feels restricted or has a lack of movement ➡️ mobility

Simple, but easy to understand 😮‍💨

Exercises commonly will form part of your management plan at Monty Osteo - not in an overwhelming capacity, but suited to what you can do.

Always good to ask for clarification if you aren’t sure.
