From clinic chats to dinner chats - 6 months of Monty Osteo 🩵

And what better way to celebrate than our first official team dinner.

There was good food, even better company and a whole lot of gratitude for this little community we’ve built - both inside and outside of the clinic walls.

To our clients and patients, our locals and every single person who has popped in, referred a friend or simply cheered us on from afar - THANK YOU

Here’s to more laughs, dinners and continuing to build a community within Monty Osteo 🙌

(Also missing our Myotherapist Caz and our receptionist Nina)

This week was Headache and Migraine awareness week.

Common presentations to Osteopaths are:
🤕 Cervicogenic HA
🤕 Tension HA
🤕 Migraine

It’s important to complete a full Osteopathic examination to determine the most likely HA

From here, a treatment and management plan is created specifically for you.

Which means yes - manual therapy is often used to help relieve the symptoms of your HA. This can include:
➡️ Soft tissue aka massage techniques to muscles
➡️ Joint articulation
➡️ HVLA (aka joint manipulation)

Management generally includes:
➡️ Workplace ergonomics
➡️ Pillow recommendations (if required)
➡️ Diet and lifestyle advice
➡️ Exercises to build strength
➡️ Stretches to help relieve muscular tightness

Many patients gain relief from Osteopathic treatment and management. In the case where it doesn’t help, we refer back to the GP for further investigation

This isn’t a sales post (tbh in healthcare that rarely works)

It’s a pull-back-the-curtain and let’s get serious about the thing that might be holding you back.

You’ve been in pain for so long now that you think no-one can help you

I want you to stop your scroll and think for a minute.

If you could get some answers about your pain, and learn in a few sessions if this is going to help you, would you do it?

We don’t make promises, but we have a deep down belief that everyone should be able to access healthcare. And live a better life.

The choice is 100% up to you.

Some of our most common questions, wrapped up in a carousel for you:

1️⃣ I don’t have the time for an appointment.
You may not have the time now, but sometimes when you wait you may have to make more time to see an improvement. Get onto those niggles early.

2️⃣ I can’t do my rehab.
We get it, life gets in the way. But please understand that your recovery time will be longer when you can’t fit in your rehab. Facts.

3️⃣ Do I need a scan?
Sometimes - yes you do. Your Osteopath may chat to you about this during your appointment. As a general rule, when the result of the scan will change your management plan, it’s a yes. Or, when we think having a better understanding of your condition will help you move forward, another yes.

4️⃣ How did you find the best Osteopaths?
We are very fortunate to have such a wonderful team of Osteopaths at Monty Osteo - and we all work so well together as a team working towards a common goal - your goal 🏆

Our team of Osteopaths 🫶

Rewind 6 months ago and I was still working on my own from my downstairs rumpus space in Montmorency.

But I knew I had to step outside of my comfort zone. And 2025 was the year to do that.

I knew we could help more people, and grow a community where healthcare really does feel human.

I am so grateful for my wonderful team and I put my complete trust in all of them.

If you are in need of an Osteopath, our amazing team are here to support you.

If I had a dollar each time 💸😂….

Someone referred to Osteos as “that’s just bones right?” 🤔

No. It’s way more than just bones 🦴

What this conversation does though, is it starts to change the thoughts behind what we do. And every question is a new opportunity to educate on what we actually do 📖

Call us curious, what’s one thing that changed your mind into what Osteopaths *actually* do? Would love to hear your thoughts 💭

We have all been told at one point “you just need to rest” when recovering from pain or an injury.

However, it can be frustrating when rest doesn’t help.

And that’s because what you actually need is so much more.

Osteopathic assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management can be the needle moving strategy to less pain, increased movement and injury recovery.

Your Osteopath can provide you with education on your diagnosis, suggestions for how to stay active whilst recovering, and hands on treatment.

They can also provide you with information about other health professionals who may need to be a part of your health care team.

In addition, the people you surround yourself with and talk to about your pain or injury can be just as important. No more getting health advice from that family member at your aunt’s 80th birthday 🤯

Reach out if you have any questions on how Osteopathy may be able to help you with pain or an injury.
