✨The closing of a chapter✨
Some words from Wild Yoga Studio's Owner, Abigail

With much consideration, and meditation, Wild Yoga Studio will lovingly close its doors at the end of March to make way for the next big adventure in my life.

I’ve absolutely adored teaching for the hinterland folk these past four years, from community classes in our gorgeous little Montville space (when Steph and Nico ran their business), to taking over the premises and opening Wild Yoga Studio in 2024. Whether you’ve been here for many of these years, or just arrived in the Wild Yoga space, I thank each and every one of you for your loving support and keen participation.

It is no small feat to run a business, even one as nurturing and lovely as a community yoga studio. This big beautiful offering has been an incredible opportunity for us all, and I’m so grateful for your kind reception and heartfelt enthusiasm. Our community is truly something special.

Wild Yoga will continue to operate until our last class on Tuesday 31st March, which will be a special 75-minute ‘Yang to Yin’ held at 5:30pm. A lovely way to connect, commune, and practice together before we say our goodbyes! Please see online or the front desk for the March schedule.

Words simply cannot describe how thankful I am for the last few years of Wild Yoga. I’ve felt so bolstered by our community to grow as a teacher, woman, practitioner and person. If you have any questions, please feel free to send me an email at wildyoga.om@gmail.com or come see me in the studio.

Welcome to another year of evolution and self-inquiry... another rounding of the curve of the spiral of life ꩜ As many of you know, we're all about exploration here at Wild Yoga. Exploration of movement, the heart, the mind, and the world beyond our own.

Whether you believe in resolutions or intention-setting, my wish for us all going forward is

🤍 To show up in authenticity and integrity
🤍 To devote time and energy to ourselves, so that we can emerge from the practice as more connected and intentional beings.

"Yoga is meant to be lived, not learned"🪽
I came across these words recently, which have stayed with me for weeks.

These beautiful, simple words eloquently encapsulate what I believe to be the true purpose of yoga. The asanas, shapes and structures of the practice on the mat are a vehicle for learning, yes, but truly serve as the foundations for embodying yoga's lessons for life off the mat.

For example, there are times when I've arrived at the yoga mat with a racing mind, burdened heart and tired body. The poses and safety of the practice helped to ease these loads and give me space to sit with them, but once I rolled up the mat and went back to the flow of my day, I noticed the effects of the practice dwindling. I rushed from chore to chore and couldn't remember how I drove from A to B. The yoga practice was beautiful, but short-lasting.

Because it's one thing to advance in your balances and find control of your chaturangas, but it's a whole different kettle of fish to bring these qualities to how you live. This is what makes the practice everlasting and limitless... something for us to embody, rather than just learn or understand.

And so my question for you this week, beautiful community, is:
How do you live the practice? Notice how the lessons gleaned from time on the mat can support you in how you're brushing your teeth, communicating with people, or folding the laundry. Can the lessons bleed into the mundane to become more embodied? To be lived, rather than learned?

Next weekend, Wild Yoga opens its doors with the warmest welcome to you, not for a yoga practice, but for a different type of community-centric offering… a collective of artists sharing their story.

This is not just a market for you to ooh and ahh at and leave with goodies in hand— it’s an offering of connection to story and self.
Each of the artists invited to be a part of this event inspire me with their words, paintbrush, hands, song, or process. I’m honoured to be sharing my new pottery collection alongside them!

❤️‍🔥 Last 2 SPOTS for Elemental Series // FIRE This Friday ❤️‍🔥

Happy Monday, Wild Yoga family!
I'm reaching out to you today to put out the call for the last 2 people to join me for The Elemental Series // FIRE immersion happening this Friday at Wild Yoga Studio.

These workshops in this Elemental Series have been a beautiful deep dive into the 5 elements of Chinese Medicine (Earth, Metal, Water, Wood, Fire) in the yoga practice and beyond. Each immersion is offered in alignment with its season, and with the longer days, shining sun and warmer weather, it feels relevant to finish this series with the radiance of FIRE 🔥

✨What to Expect in FIRE✨
We’ll begin our immersion with uplifting pranayamas, Qi Gong and expressive asana flow to experience the somatic medicine of the body. We’ll then land into a Heart & Small-Intestine focused yin yoga practice with acupressure & self-touch woven through, to dim the flames and tame the fire. We’ll close this experience with a warm tonic and gentle discussion.

This is a practice for all, beginners welcome!
