4 reasons why Friday workouts are the best!

1) no need to feel bad if it’s not a tough one, it’s the end of the week my friend.. just enjoy it 🤷‍♀️ anything is better than nothing.

2) you know you’ll (most likely) have rest day after this one as majority of us do on the weekend. Personally, I find the routine that fuels me the most is workouts in the gym 5days per week, 1 day for rest, and 1 day (at least) for active recovery exercising outdoors one way or another such as walk, jog, climb a mountain, bike ride or swim , and there are plenty more options to that🤗. In saying that, obviously, different plans depending on what specific goals you train for.

3) a Friday workout is great to boost your feel-good chemicals, destress after a busy week and gain new energy to enjoy the weekend ahead.

4) and let’s be honest, we all like to indulge a bit on the weekend when we have a break with our friends and family right? So you can, whilst not feeling guilty about it.😊🥂🎉

Happy weekend everyone!

Another week rolling in! ☀️
For whoever needs to hear this, Monday means an opportunity to forget the previous week and start fresh with a positive mindset. Embrace it. Let’s ease into the new week with good vibes, be kind to yourself and to others. Keep your environment clean from clutter. Write your daily to-do list the night before. Set one simple goal that can be achieved by the end of the week. Prioritise spending time with those you care about. Give your body and mind what it needs by making good healthy choices 😌

Are you a runner? 🏃‍♀️ Or perhaps someone who is thinking of starting? Maybe you have set yourself a goal for this year to commit to a race? If that’s the case, GO YOU! 👏🏻

Whether its a 5k, 10k, half marathon, marathon or ultra… its super important to have a plan in place to make your training as effective as possible and to avoid common running injuries along the way hindering your progress.

Here are some things you should consider:
•Main thing- what is your GOAL?
•How are you planning out your running schedule?
•Frequency, duration and intensity?
•How are you building up your distance?
•Previous exercise history?
•Any previous injuries? Other health history to consider? Medications?
•What shoes are you wearing?
•Do you complement your routine with strength training as well?
•How about stability work and stretching?
•What other things have you considered to address to optimise your training?
•Recovery?
•Nutrition? Hydration? Sleep?

These are all very important points to keep in mind. Running is very demanding on your body so be careful with how you approach a new running regime. Being a runner myself, i know its also tempting to overdo it once you’ve got the feel for it! Make sure your body is prepared for the loads to prevent unnecessary injuries. Prehab exercises can go a long way. Do it right and you’ll easy cross that finish line ⭐️

If you’re not sure where to start, dont be afraid to ask for more guidance 🤗

Keep an eye out on here for more running tips!
