Arthritis Australia had a great time visiting Arthritis & Osteoporosis Tasmania and catching up with President Frankie Forsyth and CEO Jackie Slyp and their team, hearing firsthand about the incredible work they do for their community.

Every day, they walk alongside Tasmanians living with arthritis and other musculoskeletal conditions, offering information, programs, and human connection when it’s needed most.

To the team in Tasmania: thank you for the support you provide, and your advocacy for people right across Tasmania.

A welcomed announcement from Bridget Archer, Minister for Health, Mental Health and Wellbeing regarding permanent public rheumatology services for Northern Tasmania. A great result for Tasmanians living in the north and north west, providing improved access to these services. Acknowledgement that persistent advocacy, and a strong united voice can lead to positive systemic change.

Do you have 30 minutes to spare to contribute to a research study on shoulder osteoarthritis? University of QLD researchers are offering a $50 gift voucher in return for 30 minutes of your time.
Physiotherapy is a key non-surgical management of shoulder osteoarthritis (OA); however, it is currently understudied. It is unknown what attitudes, beliefs, and treatments physiotherapists provide for adults with shoulder OA, and hence, the aim of this survey is to uncover this which could help inform the development of physiotherapy-specific guidelines for shoulder OA.
