We've been talking in classes recently about how people treat themselves. People are used to being stressed, tired, wound up to the point it seems "normal". What is the inner dialogue that keeps us living like this - to lose our humour, to struggle against ourselves, to dislike ourselves so much, to be so cut off from our feelings? We treat ourselves quite badly. It affects our health of course, our state of mind and our whole outlook on life. We need to just stop, and recognize how we're living and have the awareness to see how it's affecting us, then we can start to let the causes go and respond to life's challenges differently. Self-kindness and self-love aren't weaknesses, and it's not about ego. When we start to live more authentically we live in a state of wholeness and harmony free of fears and struggles. It means connecting with Ourselves and letting go opinions, criticisms and trying to live up to the way 21st century living says we should live. Brene Brown said "Talk to yourself like you would to someone you love." When we do live authentically we align with something greater in our lives, and it brings peace, self-love and self-acceptance. And I think that's what people are looking for.
