IMMEDIATE ACTION CHECKLIST:
🔍 Breathing normal or gasping?
🔍 Gums pink or pale/white? (Pale = shock = emergency)

Meet our team, Dr Fei!
Fei completed her undergraduate studies at the University of British Columbia in Canada before moving to Australia to pursue a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Melbourne. After graduating, she worked in general practice for four years, where she developed a strong interest in surgery.

She went on to complete a surgical internship at Queensland Veterinary Specialists in Brisbane and is now in her first year of a surgery residency. Fei is passionate about all aspects of surgery and is dedicated to delivering the highest level of patient care.

Outside of work, she enjoys doing Pilates, spending time with her cat Jason, and exploring Melbourne’s vibrant culinary scene.

Plot twist: Your vet team spent their day learning how to save lives (again) 💙
While most people were scrolling TikTok, our Southpaws crew was busy mastering CPR techniques on our training dummy. Because apparently we're overachievers like that 😅

Here's the thing, veterinary medicine doesn't pause for anyone. New techniques, updated protocols, life-saving skills... it's all constantly evolving. And honestly? We're kind of obsessed with staying ahead of the curve.

Your pets don't get second chances, so neither do we when it comes to our training. That's just how we roll at Southpaws 🐾

Meet our team, Dr Jun Loh, who joined our Southpaws family in 2024! 🩺✨

After graduating from the University of Queensland in 2018, Jun spent a year in general practice and completed his rotating and surgical internships at the University of Queensland Small Animal Teaching Hospital and Veterinary Specialist Services. He then moved to Melbourne to start his surgery residency at Southpaws in 2024, where he aspires to become an all-rounded surgeon.

Jun made the move to Melbourne with his beautiful family - his wife, son, and two adorable fur babies: Dash (Labrador x Border Collie) and Luna (Domestic shorthair). 🐕🐱

When he's not in the operating room, you'll find Dr Jun practicing calisthenics! His go-to moves? Muscle-ups and free handstand push-ups - talk about impressive! 💪

We're thrilled to have Dr Jun's surgical expertise and dedication as part of our team. He enjoys all aspects of small animal surgery and his commitment to excellence makes him a valuable addition to Southpaws!
