John has been a professional Social Worker for 30 years and has significant experience in health and welfare-related fields with both Federal and State Government services and agencies. Over the last 14 years, John has worked in the Department of Human Services (Centrelink) across various communities on the Mid North Coast as well as in remote Indigenous communities in the Northern Territory. Paula has a history of working in small business and most recently working with FACS (Family and Community Services/Community Housing), where she performed a number of roles supporting vulnerable people with their housing needs. We recognise there is a need within our local communities for tailored support packages for people with a range of disabilities. We acknowledge and appreciate that every individual has a unique circumstance, challenges and requirements and we are committed to ensuring we continue to provide personalised and appropriate support.

✨ On Thursday, John and I headed down to Wyong for a small get-together with some fellow NDIS business owners. Our coach, Paul, zoomed in all the way from Perth to share his insights.

These catch-ups are always a reminder that while running a business can sometimes feel lonely, it doesn’t have to be. Surrounding ourselves with a community of like-minded providers—who all share the same goal of delivering the best possible care and supports to participants—keeps us learning, growing, and inspired. 🌱💙

🌟 Meet Tammy Baxter 🌟

Family brought Tammy to Port, wanting her son to grow up surrounded by cousins—and community has kept her here. 💙

For Tammy, support work is about so much more than care—it’s about making sure every person knows their story is unique, that they are heard, valued, respected, and that they truly belong. She feels blessed to be part of such a rewarding career and finds joy in helping people grow in confidence and independence. ✨

The best part of her role? The way her heart feels full when someone she supports reaches their goals. 💫

Outside of work, Tammy enjoys fishing with her family, gardening, craft, listening to music, and relaxing with her beautiful old pug, Obi. 🐾 She also has a running joke with her husband—if she’s not at work or with family, you’ll probably find her happily “lost” in the plant section at Bunnings. 🌱😂
