Be Physiology • Exercise Physiology At Be Physiology, we’re here to help you move better and live well. What is an exercise physiologist? In short, we're more hands-off, and they're hands-on.

We create supportive environments where individuals can feel confident and empowered to improve their health through movement. An exercise physiologist is an allied health professional, who uses exercise as medicine to treat chronic health conditions, such as stroke or spinal cord injuries. We're similar to a physio in that we have a 4-year degree, but we assess and manage conditions by prescribing exercise and movement, whereas a physiotherapist will assess, diagnose and treat your condition through a variety of hands-on skills (such as massage and dry needling). Movement is our medicine.

A sneak peak into one of our current balance & coordination finishers ➡️ designed to improve stability and reaction time, as well as reduce falls risk.

Incorporating cognitive tasks into balance training improves the brain’s ability to manage multiple demands during movement. This approach supports improved efficiency in daily activities and sport. A more resilient nervous system leads to more confident movement out in the real world! 🌎

Today is International Day of People with a Disability. It’s a day to reflect on how we can do our best to promote community awareness, understanding and acceptance of all people living with a disability 👥

It’s also a day to celebrate the hard work, determination and participation of those living with a disability, despite the many barriers they face 💪🏼

Let’s continue to strive towards creating equal and inclusive services, spaces and communities for all 🧡

Our exercise sessions with kids and young adults aren’t just about getting them moving. They’re about helping them want to move — now and long into adulthood ⚽

Here’s how we can create sessions that feel both fun and motivating for young clients:

✨ Autonomy - Give them choice! Co-create warm-ups, offer options, and involve them in decision-making.

✨ Competence: Build small wins. Focus on movement quality and ensure they know that putting in lots of effort is what we are really looking for.

✨ Relatedness: Make them feel like an important part of the team - because they are!

These ingredients are key — setting kids up for a lifetime of enjoying physical activity 🤸🏻‍♀️🏅

On , we’re reminding our community that consistent, purposeful exercise can make a real difference in managing and preventing diabetes 🏃🏼‍♂️

Regular movement helps improve insulin sensitivity, stabilise blood glucose levels, and support long-term health 🩸

Our team supports clients to move with confidence — safely, effectively, and with a plan that works for you.

The holidays are coming… but your body doesn’t take a break! 🌲
Every year around this time, clients start heading off for Christmas holidays — and when they return, we often hear the same thing:
“I didn’t realise how much difference a few weeks off would make!”
Taking time to rest and recharge is important, but planning some movement over the break can make getting back into routine so much easier.
If you’re heading away this year, chat with your Exercise Physiologist about how to keep moving while you’re off — even a short walk, swim, or bodyweight routine can help you stay on track 📊

This is called the Talk Test!

👉 If you can say a few words but not hold a full conversation, you’re in the vigorous intensity zone.
👉 If you can chat comfortably, that’s moderate intensity.

🇦🇺 Australian Guidelines:
Adults should aim for at least
💪 150–300 mins of moderate or
🔥 75–150 mins of vigorous activity each week — or a mix of both!

Happy Birthday EP Angus! We hope you have a fantastic day & week full of celebrations 🥳

These controlled sit-to-stands and knee-to-block lunges are specially chosen to improve strength, balance, and confidence in our client recovering from a brain injury 💪🏼

Current goals:
✅ promote neuromuscular adaptation
✅ enhance core stability
✅ rebuild functional mobility

…all key components in regaining independence!

Controlling movements like these is essential for improving coordination and motor control after a brain injury. By focusing on slow, deliberate movements, our client enhances neuromuscular control, which helps re-establish proper movement patterns and reduces the risk of falls.

These exercises are vital for rebuilding the connection between the brain and muscles, paving the way for more stable and confident mobility🚶🏻‍♀️

Welcome to Brisbane Exercise Physiology

A strong foundation is important for any structure, whether that’s your body or a start-up.

And the structural foundation doesn’t get much stronger than the shared background and experience of the team at Brisbane Exercise Physiology.

Harry White and Andrew ‘Aj’ Morris have been friends since they were 10 years old, sharing a love of sports, health and a genuine desire to help people.

These shared interests led them both to study Clinical Exercise Physiology separately, then brought them back together to launch Brisbane Exercise Physiology in January 2020.
