Feeling the World Spin? You might have BPPV!
Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) is one of the most common causes of vertigo! It causes a sudden spinning sensation when you move your head a certain way. It happens when tiny crystals (otoconia) in your inner ear become dislodged and move into the wrong canals.
👂Symptoms can include:
✅ Sudden dizziness when lying down, rolling in bed, or looking up
✅ Nausea or imbalance
✅ Brief episodes of vertigo lasting seconds to minutes
The good news?
BPPV is highly treatable with specialised physiotherapy techniques such as canalith repositioning maneuvers!
💡 If you're experiencing these symptoms, book in with one of our vestibular physiotherapists today. Call us on 33424378 or email us admin@equilibriumrehab.com.au.

Knowledge is power! Raising awareness helps more people find the right support and care. You are not alone. If you experience these symptoms alongside migraines, consult with a vestibular physiotherapist. We can help you 1) Understand your symptoms 2) Develop coping strategies 3) Improve your quality of life. Contact us at 3342 4378 for a comprehensive assessment today🙂

If you're dealing with dizziness, vertigo, or balance issues, you're not alone. Vestibular disorders can have a major impact on your everyday life. The good news is that vestibular rehabilitation (VR) provides a specialized, exercise-based method to help ease these symptoms. VR works by maximizing your vestibular function and training your brain to rely on other senses, such as vision and body awareness, to compensate for any weaknesses in your vestibular system. While this compensation can happen gradually, VR can speed up the recovery process for those who are still struggling. Our approach is tailored to your specific needs, aiming to restore your balance, boost your confidence, and help you get back to your daily routine. Don’t let dizziness hold you back! Discover how vestibular rehabilitation can help you feel your best again! Contact us at 3342 4378 for a comprehensive assessment today🙂

Good balance is often taken for granted!

Think about walking down the street – seems easy, right? But there's a whole lot going on behind the scenes! Your eyes (sight), your inner ear (which helps you sense movement), and proprioception (sensors of position and movement in the feet and legs) all work together to keep you upright. This team sends signals to your brain, which then tells your muscles how to move to keep you steady. Injuries, illnesses, even some medications can throw this amazing team off. This can make you feel unsteady, dizzy, or even afraid to move.

If you're struggling with balance, it's important to find out what's causing the problem so you can get back to feeling confident and independent. Struggling with balance? Contact us at 3342 4378 for a comprehensive assessment.

EQUILIBRIUM REHAB

Equilibrium Rehab was established in 1999 by Meg Richards to assist patients in Brisbane QLD who have vestibular complaints through providing specialized physiotherapy services in private outpatient vestibular rehabilitation.

Initially the focus was equally on neurological conditions, but it became evident over a number of years that there was a greater need in the wider Brisbane community for management of vestibular problems. Thus today the large majority of the practice is devoted to vestibular rehabilitation.

Although based in Moorooka we provide services to many areas in Brisbane & the Sunshine Coast through branch clinics in Nundah, Scarborough, Cleveland and now Maleny, and we also receive referrals from throughout Queensland, Northern Territory and New South Wales. We can provide consultations via Skype for clients who can’t travel easily to our Brisbane clinics following an initial face-to-face consultation in Brisbane.
