Day 1 of ‘Peta’s Program’ 🤗

Today, the Harmony & Me group took the time to connect, getting to know both familiar and fresh faces in our community. Stepping out of your comfort zone isn’t always easy, but their confidence, charisma, and honesty were truly inspiring! 🩵

We spent the afternoon together delving into the meaning behind ‘Harmony Week’ (17th - 23rd March).
Participants engaged in group discussions about our country’s multiculturalism and what ‘respect’, ‘inclusivity’, and ‘a sense of belonging’ meant to them in their lives 🩵

(Oh, and we may have convinced our new Program Leader, Nicole, to embrace her crafty side—turns out she has some hidden creative talents after all! 😆)

Meet our Program Leader Nicole 🌸

Hi, my name is Nicole! 🤗

I’ve been a support worker for many years—though my age might give that away!
I’m young at heart, fun-loving, and always up for a good laugh. I may be a terrible singer, but that never stops me from belting out a tune! 🎤

ABBA is my all-time favourite (because I am the Dancing Queen), and I also love country music. You’ll find me cheering loud and proud for the Brisbane Lions, Broncos, and, of course, Queensland in the State of Origin.

I’m adventurous, fiercely loyal, and passionate about group support and respite care. Inclusivity and an individualised approach are at the heart of everything I do, and I always go above and beyond for those around me.
Oh, and I can never say no to a sneaky piece of cake! 🧁

I am beyond excited to be part of the Platinum Family, and cannot wait to meet you all soon!

Meet our Executive Service Manager, Peta 🌸

Hi there! 👋

I’ve been asked to introduce myself, so here it goes!

My name is Peta, and I started working in the disability sector at just 18 years old. While I had no idea what I was doing at first, I was a fast learner with a lifetime of lived experience—and I quickly realised that supporting others was my true calling. 💓

Over the past 19 years (now I’m really showing my age…), I’ve gained a wealth of knowledge and experience across various roles, including Support Worker, House Leader, Lead Facilitator, Developer of Group Support Programs, Support Coordinator, Psychosocial Recovery Coach, and now, Executive Service Manager. 🤓
I’ve pretty much done it all—and loved every single minute of it! (Well… except for that awkward phase when we were all trying to make sense of the NDIS and its never-ending changes! 😂)

Outside of work, I’m a proud mum to two pre-teens (and a darling Staffy). In my spare time you’ll usually find me close by a live band, bushwalking, exploring creeks, or getting crafty.

I’m beyond excited to introduce social and group Programs of Support to Platinum Support Australia! 🩵 Developing and facilitating quality social and community support programs is something I’m incredibly passionate about, and I can’t wait to share this journey with you all.
