Each year in Australia around 1,900 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

Did you know?
1. Ovarian cancer is Australia’s most lethal female cancer with a 49% 5-year survival rate.
2. 70% of those diagnosed with advanced ovarian cancer will have a recurrence within 3 years.
3. Symptoms of ovarian cancer are often vague making the disease difficult to detect.
4. There is no accurate and reliable early detection test- a pap smear or cervical screening test does not detect ovarian cancer.
5. Your family history of cancer is important when understanding your personal risk of ovarian cancer.

Dr Jamil completed his GP training in the UK in August 2022, rotating through Acute Medicine, Emergency Medicine and Paediatrics.

Dr Jamil’s areas of interest include Dermatology, Minor Surgical Procedures, Cryotherapy for warts, Paediatrics, Mental Health, Women's and Men's Health & Chronic Disease Management.

When he is not seeing patients, Dr Jamil enjoys shopping with his wife, watching movies and playing cricket.

Dr Jamil is fluent in Pushtu, Urdu, Punjabi and English.

Dr Henry Fredman is a dedicated, enthusiastic and caring GP Registrar.

Dr Henry completed his Doctor of Medicine in 2022 at the University of Queensland. Before commencing General Practice, he gained broad experience across multiple health facilities within the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service. Prior to a career in Medicine, Dr Henry worked as a physiotherapist across both hospital and community sports settings.

Dr Henry’s special interests include musculoskeletal and sports medicine, preventative health, chronic disease management and men’s health. Outside of work, he enjoys an active lifestyle and spending time outdoors with his young family.
