🌟 What a fantastic day at the SASI Mornington Peninsula Disability Expo! 🌟

It was wonderful connecting with providers, teachers, carers, and parents from our community and sharing our resources. Knowing that Learning Patch is making a difference in classrooms is truly rewarding — it's a privilege to be a part of this meaningful work.

Thank you for the engaging conversations and positive feedback — we were overwhelmed by the response! Looking forward to meeting more of you at upcoming expos later this year. Stay tuned for updates!

Complex tasks can be overwhelming, especially for children with autism. Breaking activities down into smaller steps can make a world of difference. That's why we've developed a Progress Tracker—to help children who are big procrastinators get started on an activity, and then feel intrinsically rewarded as they see themselves making progress. This can also reduce stress and build confidence.

My journey over the last 16 years has taught me that the most meaningful connections happen when we embrace and support neurodivergent children just as they are. Every child has their own unique needs and it's our role to provide the guidance that helps them thrive. 💚💚

Tip #1: Box Breathing
Stress and anxiety are not just something adults experience; kids and teenagers feel it too. Good news is there are super simple breathing techniques that work like magic!

BOX BREATHING is a quick go-to that’s even used by Navy Seals to manage those nerves.

Take a little moment each day to practice Box Breathing and keep anxiety under control.

Homeschooling in term 2 is going to be our new normal. Maintaining structure is so important, and the ability to check in on our kids' emotions is more important than ever. Our Daily Planner caters to these needs & more.

Daily Planners have 3 distinct areas:
• Daily planning page to help stay organised
• Time Out ZONES to check in on how they’re feeling
• Emotion Tutorials to help recognise feelings in themselves and others (and help them deal with their feelings).

- The Time Out ZONES are a great place for students to check in on how they're feeling, and express their feelings through words or pictures.

It’s been uplifting seeing teddy bears on window ledges when I go for a walk. If you’re looking for something relaxing to do with your kids that can also brighten your windows during lockdown, we’ve created some colour by numbers Easter eggs. We’ll be pasting two eggs together so that we can enjoy the colours on one side and leaving the other side on display to cheer up walkers taking a break from isolation. You can find the Colour By Numbers Easter Egg sheet here: https://www.learningpatch.com.au/collections/free-downloads
