Functional naturopathy is not guesswork.
At Origin, we use clinical experience, pathology, functional testing and whole-body assessment to understand what is actually going on in the body.
I have been working in health for 33 years, and one thing I know for sure is this:
People are often told their results are “normal,” but they still feel exhausted, inflamed, foggy, sore, bloated, hormonal, anxious, flat or just not like themselves.
That is where functional naturopathy goes deeper.
We do not just look at whether something is inside the basic reference range.
We look at patterns, trends, deficiencies, stress load, inflammation, gut function, hormones, detox pathways, nutrient status and how all of that connects to your symptoms.
Some of the testing we may look at includes:
Full iron studies, not just iron
Active B12 and folate
Vitamin D
Thyroid antibodies, not just thyroid stimulating hormone
Full thyroid markers including free triiodothyronine and free thyroxine
Insulin and glucose patterns
Inflammation markers
Liver and kidney markers
Hormone testing
Cortisol rhythm testing
Microbiome testing
Stool testing
Organic acid testing
Food intolerance patterns
Genetic testing where relevant
Nutrient status
Methylation support markers
These tests can help us understand why someone may be tired, inflamed, in pain, struggling with hormones, reacting to foods, not recovering well, or feeling like their body is not working properly.
And no, this does not mean everyone needs every test.
That is not how I work.
We assess the person in front of us, look at their symptoms, history and health goals, then choose what is clinically useful.
I do not believe in putting people on a million random supplements.
I believe in finding the cause, supporting the body properly, and helping people understand what their body is trying to tell them.
That is functional naturopathy.
That is Origin.
If you feel like something is off but you keep being told everything is fine, book a functional naturopathy consult.
