Breast cancer related lymphoedema: Women who have axillary lymph nodes dissection (ALND) during breast cancer surgery are at higher risk of developing lymphoedema.

This study found that prophylactic use of compression sleeves can significantly reduce the risk of arm swelling in high-risk patients.

The findings reinforce the importance of early monitoring and preventative lymphoedema care to protect long-term arm health after breast cancer treatment.

Physiotherapist- Lymphoedema position.

Are you looking for a change of pace?

Join our friendly, supportive team in a unique and rewarding field, where you’ll have the time to truly care for your patients.

At our state-of-the-art clinic in Mornington, we focus on providing 60-minute sessions – so there’s no pressure to rush through 2–3 patients per hour. This means you’ll have the space to combine your MSK skills with lymphoedema and oncology care, offering truly holistic treatment.

We’re a fast-growing practice located close to private hospitals, with a strong referral base from GPs, surgeons, and oncologists. Our team supports patients across the cancer care spectrum, as well as those with vascular compromise, post-surgical needs, or broader wellbeing goals.

Our services include:

• Lymphoedema prevention and management (primary, secondary, cancer-related)

• Pre- and post-cancer rehabilitation programs

• Scar tissue and cording management

• Bioimpedance (SOZO), low-level laser therapy, and compression therapy

Who we’re looking for:

• A qualified physiotherapist (new grads with passion for oncology/lymphoedema welcome!)

• Lymphoedema certification (or interest in undertaking training, which we can support)

• Current AHPRA registration

• Strong communication skills and a patient-centred approach

• A collaborative team player with good organisational skills

What’s on offer:

• Part-time or full-time work options

• Above-award pay

• Mentoring, ongoing PD, and support to become a qualified Lymphoedema Practitioner

• A friendly, professional, and inclusive team culture

• Modern facilities with access to the latest tools and protocols

• The opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of patients facing cancer, vascular compromise, and chronic conditions

If you’re ready to slow down the pace, spend quality time with your patients, and grow your skills in a rewarding and expanding area of practice – we’d love to hear from you.

To apply: Please send your resume, proof of registration, indemnity insurance, references, and a cover letter outlining your interest in this role.

We look forward to welcoming you to the team.
