You don’t need more discipline.
You need a regulated baseline.
We live in a world that praises consistency, productivity and pushing through.
So when motivation disappears, routines fall apart or even small tasks begin to feel overwhelming, many people assume the problem is discipline.
But often, that’s not actually what’s happening.
A dysregulated nervous system can look like:
procrastination
brain fog
emotional shutdown
irritability
difficulty starting tasks
low motivation
inconsistent capacity
needing more recovery than others
Take a moment to really check in with what you need, where you are being hard on yourself and honestly what you would say to a friend right now in the same position. I can guarantee that they way you would speak to a friend would have SO much more compassion than your inner dialogue.
