Leaking during exercise is common — but it’s not normal, and it’s not something you should have to push through.

Many people are told to “just do more pelvic floor exercises,” but that’s only part of the picture.

In most cases, leakage during movement is a pressure management and coordination issue.

When you run, jump, lift, or train, your body needs to balance internal pressure with the ability of your pelvic floor and core system to respond at the right time.

If that system is:
• Delayed
• Poorly coordinated
• Overloaded
• Fatigued
→ leakage can occur

And often, it’s not weakness at all.
With the right assessment and approach, you can improve how your body manages load — and get back to training with confidence.

If this is something you’re experiencing, support is available.

Pelvic health symptoms aren’t always just physical.
If you’ve noticed bladder urgency, pelvic pain, or discomfort increase during stressful or busy periods - you’re not imagining it.

Your pelvic floor is closely linked to your nervous system.
When stress is high, your body shifts into a protective state - which can affect muscle tone, coordination, and sensitivity.

That’s why symptoms often flare with:
• Stress or overwhelm
• Poor sleep
• Fatigue
• Overtraining

This is a physiological response.
Not something you just have to “push through.”

The good news?
With the right support, you can improve both how your body functions and how it responds to load.
If you’re unsure where to start, support is available.

Postpartum isn’t about “bouncing back.”

It’s about rebuilding a body that can handle life — and load.

One of the most common mistakes we see is doing too much, too soon… or holding back for too long.
Both can delay progress.

Your body gives you feedback —
heaviness, leakage, doming, fatigue — these are signs to adjust, not ignore.

With the right guidance, you can rebuild strength, confidence and capacity over time.

If you’re unsure where to start, Rhona can help.

Endometriosis pain is complex.

For many women, pain is not only coming from the pelvic organs themselves.

Over time, repeated inflammation and pain signals can train the nervous system to become more protective and sensitive.

This is known as central sensitisation.

When this happens, the body’s alarm system becomes louder. Pain signals can feel amplified, and even normal sensations may feel uncomfortable or painful.

Importantly — this does not mean the pain is “in your head.”

All pain is processed in the brain, and the experience of pain is very real.

Pelvic physiotherapy can play an important role in helping calm this protective response through:
• pelvic floor down-training
• breathing and nervous system regulation
• gentle graded movement
• education around pain and the nervous system

If you’re living with endometriosis and persistent pelvic pain, support is available and you don’t have to navigate it alone.

Patient experience matters to us.

We regularly ask our patients for feedback so we can continue improving the care and environment we provide at MPFP.

One of the most common things people tell us is how welcoming and friendly the clinic feels when they walk through the door.

Thank you to everyone who takes the time to share their experience with our team.

Feedback helps us continue providing a supportive environment for our local community.

If you’re looking for physiotherapy support for injury, movement or recovery, our team is here to help.

Endometriosis is not “just a bad period.”

It is not low pain tolerance.
It is not hormones.
And it is not something you should “just live with.”

Endometriosis is a chronic inflammatory condition that affects muscles, nerves, and the way the brain processes pain.

Many women experience symptoms that extend far beyond period pain:
• painful s*x
• back pain
• hip pain
• bowel symptoms
• bladder urgency

When pain is present for a long time, the body starts to guard.

The pelvic floor tightens.
Nerves become more sensitive.
Pain signals amplify.

Pelvic physiotherapy can help calm this guard-pain cycle and restore healthy movement.

You deserve answers.
You deserve support.

✨ Save this post if you or someone you love lives with endometriosis.
