Australia’s First Bariatric Turning Bed installed in Melbourne

We here at DRP International Healthcare have provided the Freedom Bed across Australia and New Zealand for the past 5 years. In that time, it has been proven that this unique lateral rotation medical bed has enhanced the lives of its users while reducing medical costs and the need for long term care.
We are proud to inform you that a Bariatric version of the bed has now been introduced into the market and we have just installed our first bariatric Freedom Bed for a client in Melbourne.
The client, while still in his 50’s has been accommodated in an Aged Care Facility for the past 8 years in order to access sufficient care to meet his high dependency needs.
The Freedom Bariatric Bed has now given him the independence to move into his own Apartment with a significantly reduced need for care staff. The automated turning program allows him to be more independent and more comfortable while reducing the potential for pressure injuries and other complications of immobility.
At 2.18 metres in length and 1.37 metres in width, the Freedom Bariatric Bed can cater for users up to 270 kg in weight.
The Freedom Bed is available for sale or to hire for a short or on a long term basis.

DRP International Healthcare has brought our Stephen Plummer, President of Pro Bed Canada, to present on the brilliance of the Freedom Bed.

Here Stephen is presenting to an engaged group of OT’s at Yooralla’s ILC Centre last Friday. Today we hit the road to Sydney, with a full van, in preparation for The ATSA Expo at Olympic Park, Starting Wednesday.

The Freedom Bed is changing the lives with its fully automated or voice controlled, lateral rotation therapy. Now funded through the NDIS.
