WORLD DIABETES DAY 14th NOVEMBER 2025
World Diabetes Day is a global occasion for people with diabetes, healthcare professionals, advocates, policymakers and the public to unite to raise awareness of and take action on diabetes.
The theme for World Diabetes Day 2024-26 is Diabetes and Well-being. The campaign focus for 2025 is diabetes and the workplace, with the slogan “Know more and do more for diabetes at work.”
This World Diabetes Day, International Diabetes Federation (IDF) is calling on employers, employees and the global community to improve their knowledge about diabetes and take action to facilitate supportive work environments for people with the condition.

Where can you get your moles checked?
There are a number of clinics in the Mornington Peninsula that offer skin cancer screening. At Beach End, we offer MoleMap Skin Check at our handy location of Main Street, Mornington. This includes a head to toe check with an advanced dermatoscopic lens by a trained melanographer. Moles are then diagnosed via telemedicine by an expert dermatologist. This means there’s much less risk of unnecessary biopsies (and additional associated costs).
How can you prevent skin cancer?
Wear SPF30+ sunscreen or UV protection every day. Particularly if you work outdoors.
Minimise your sun exposure, especially during the middle of the day or when UV levels are high.
Seek shade
Wear a hat that covers the neck and ears
Wear close-fitting sunglasses
Don’t use sunbeds or solariums
What are the different types of skin cancer?
There are three main types of skin cancer:
* basal cell carcinoma
* squamous cell carcinoma
* melanoma - the most dangerous form of skin cancer
Melanoma is the third most common cancer in Australia.

SEPTEMBER IS PROSTATE CANCER AWARENESS MONTH !
What is Prostate cancer?
Prostate cancer occurs when abnormal cells in the prostate grow in an uncontrolled way.
The prostate is a gland in the male reproductive system. It makes a fluid that forms part of semen. The prostate is located just below the bladder and in front of the re**um.
Prostate cancer can press on or block the bladder or the urethra (the tube that allows urine to be released from the bladder) and cause problems with urination and sexual function.
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in Australia (apart from common skin cancers).
Your health is our priority. Book online www.beachendmedicalclinic.com or call reception 03)5975 1066 with our friendly team of Mornington Doctors.
