Kids Moods & Foods! Our Paediatric Practitioner Sara continues to answer your questions, next up you asked: Is my child’s mood or focus linked to food?

Food plays a powerful role in how children feel, behave and concentrate. You may have noticed this in your child. Understanding the types of foods that can trigger mood and focus issues can have a huge impact on family life and schooling.

“As a Paediatric Practitioner I assess key factors including nutrients like iron, zinc, magnesium and omega-3s, blood sugar balance, protein intake and gut health to understand potential influences on mood and focus. Small nutritional changes can sometimes lead to noticeable improvements in mood, attention and emotional regulation.”

During your consultation Sara may recommend functional stool testing or a food intolerance assessment to further understand gut health.

Why does my child keep getting sick?
It’s normal for children to pick up infections as their immune systems mature, but if your child seems unwell more often than not, there may be underlying factors worth exploring.
Paediatric Practitioner Sara looks at immune foundations like nutrition, gut health, sleep quality, stress load and nutrient status to help build resilience. Sara says, “It’s not just about short-term symptom relief, we find proactive prevention is better for everyone”.
Supporting the immune system early can make a big difference to how children cope with school, daycare and seasonal changes., especially at the start of a new school year!
To get started with a plan for personalised nutrients, some favourite herbal medicines and key dietary tips book an appointment for some with Sara in clinic or via telehealth.

🤩 Signed Copies 🤩 A favourite in our WELL Store is ‘Wholesome by Sarah’, a book bursting with family-friendly, whole food meals, written by local superstar . This book is flying off the shelves and for good reason. Naturopath Laura purchased it a few weeks ago and says “This book is fantastic, full of winners. My notoriously fussy son has requested the Green Monster Pasta several times and gobbled it up enthusiastically!”

Weight management & metabolic health is an area we’re seeing growing interest with lots of inquiries about our thoughts on GLP-1 agonist medications such as Ozempic and Wegovy (which are actually a naturally occurring compound that has lots of pro health metabolic and anti inflammatory positives) and natural metabolic support options.

Many patients are seeking guidance on whether there are natural options that may be used instead of, or alongside, GLP-1 medications to support appetite regulation, weight management and metabolic health. The answer is YES!

Naturopath & Nutritionist Kristen gives more details about her work supporting people to healthy weight loss on GLP-1 injections and with the OEA (Oleoylethanolamide) the natural compound gaining increasing attention in the metabolic and healthy weight management space. Read her article for all the details, link in comments along with some great infographics by on OEA.

New Year has us thinking we should share more about what we do as a team of Naturopaths! We often get asked what is Naturopathy and how do you become a Naturopath?

Naturopathic Medicine is a holistic approach to health that uses traditional medicine and cutting edge scientific research to treats the mind, body and spirit. The whole person in a personalised way, it is certainly not a one size fits all approach!

Our form of natural medicine encourages the body’s self healing process. So what is Naturopathic Medicine? It’s integrative, personalised and preventative medicine that puts both health and care back into healthCARE. We call it WELLcare, Naturopath Medicine is not just for symptom control, while we resolve your acute symptoms we are also always thinking about the cause of your health concerns and how we can help you live WELL now but also in the future.

Are you looking for answers? More support? Do you want to feel WELL? Or are you interested in taking a more natural approach? Why not book an appointment with one of our Naturopaths today in our bio or by calling 0359770117.
