4am thoughts …
This next post is going to be a deep one for me to write.
Some people may roll their eyes, some may even smirk, some may think “here she goes again” honestly I don’t have the strength for negativity at the moment but I hope that most read it with a bit of empathy & I don’t want this to be a “poor me post”. Instead It’s a truth bomb!
Seeing so many businesses closing I don’t want to be that business.
I’m reaching out my hand for a bit of help up & I’m asking if you may be able to catch us if we stumble.
I currently have over 9000 genuine likes on my page. We’ve earnt these from giving away products, from you guys sharing posts & recommendations & from supplying quality products.
We’ve worked extremely hard to get where we are Over the past 13 years, I have battled through the market weather of winter, the quiet season & those crazy covid years. Never missing a single cent of rent even when the government forced us to close. We’ve had our name dragged through mud by a jealous competitor for years and years & we rose above & soldiered on.
Over these years, we have helped many charities, schools, sporting clubs & housed many small businesses helping sell their wares rent free to them only working off a small commission to cover incurred costs like EFTPOS fees & GST I had to pay even when they were not registered.
It is now that we need your help.
I’m very grateful for the customers & huge amount of friends we’ve met along the way, the hundreds of happy customers & wholesale clients we have made, eternally grateful in fact
I have in past statuses shown my gratitude because without you we wouldn’t be able to achieve the things that we have like employing Caleb. My biggest achievement to date.
When i opened my shop almost 5 years ago I used every single cent of my own to make my dream a reality. no loans. no finance, no help just 100% hard earned money that I’d saved up.
My tank is now running on empty, I have now taken on a third job to ensure the cost of living doesn’t consume me completely but instead it’s barely allowing me to keep our wheels turning & our doors open.
Everyone knows me as an open book we have battled with costs of everything rising just like everyone else Insurances, rent, utilities, products but I’ve maintained the cheapest prices on the peninsula, better prices than shops, online & markets.
We are constantly brain storming trying to remain different from the current candle makers with the prices as low as we can offer.
I guess where I’m going is if you have $1 to purchase a single soy melt or $2 for a mini bath bomb we would love nothing more than for you to spend it with us.
I’m not begging, I’m being real & putting my pride aside to say please consider the small guys like us that need your help.
