🌿 Meet Racheal – Our New Social Worker at Pearson’s! 🌿
We’re so excited to welcome Racheal to our team! šŸ’š
Racheal has a lifelong love for animals and believes strongly in the calming effect they can have. She can see clients either in our office or here at the farm, for those who respond best to being around animals. šŸ“šŸ¶šŸ‘
She is also passionate about running groups, where clients can connect, share, and grow together in a safe and supportive space. For this term, Racheal will also be attending our farm groups, so you’ll get the chance to meet her there too. 🌾✨
šŸ“ž If you would like to book in to see Racheal, please contact our office on 08 8322 2792 and ask to speak to Krysta.

This week, we had the pleasure of Beyond Blindness visiting us for a farm and animal tour at Clarendon!

In collaboration with Pearson's Animal & Wildlife Rescue, we hosted our lovely guests across various activities, such as a meet and greet with our horses, to bottle feeding our sheep and lambs, to a more intimate indoor session with our young joeys.

We welcome all groups, from disability to private, to corporate, to schools at our 2 beautiful farm locations in Clarendon and Myponga.

What Does Mentoring Look Like at Pearson’s?
At Pearson’s, mentoring isn’t just ticking boxes—it’s an adventure!

Sure, we can do the traditional style of mentoring out in the community—helping you get to activities, appointments, and events—but why stop there?

We also offer a whole menu of unique, hands-on experiences designed to spark confidence, grow independence, and make every session something to look forward to.

What Makes Us Different?
🐐 Our Clarendon Farm – Think rolling hills, fresh air, and the most gorgeous animals you’ll ever meet. You might find yourself brushing a pony, feeding the chooks, or even bottle-feeding one of our baby animals.

šŸ¼ Pony Ride & Animal Nursery – Perfect for little animal lovers! Meet and groom our ponies, take them for a walk around the farm, then meet and cuddle goats, chickens, miniature ponies, and maybe even bottle-feed a baby animal.

🐓 Horse Connection & Social Skills – Meet our horses, learn about horse body language, and discover how it relates to humans. This helps teach non-verbal social cues in a fun and memorable way.

šŸ  Our Hackham Community House – A huge, welcoming space where you can try your hand at cooking, relax in our sensory hub (packed with cool equipment), or join in with fun group activities.

šŸŽ£ Fishing & Boating – Once a term, we take a small group out for a boat trip to experience fishing in the sea.

Whether it’s out and about, up at the farm, or at our Hackham hub, mentoring at Pearson’s is all about fun with purpose—where you learn, grow, and laugh along the way.

Today, while having lunch, I came across a Facebook post from a participant’s mother seeking advice on three providers in the South — Pearson’s being one of them.

To my surprise, one person referenced an incident we know nothing about. If it were true, it should have been reported to the NDIS Commission. Another comment claimed we have a ā€œterrible reputationā€ down South. Not only is this untrue and unfair, but it is also disheartening, especially for our staff, who work tirelessly to provide quality services to our clients.

We know we can’t please everyone, but we always strive to deliver the best possible care. Reading comments like this is upsetting, but I remind myself of the positive impact we have and the many people we support every day.

A little kindness goes a long way — especially in our industry and as I head outside to give the babies their afternoon bottles i am going to remind myself to give them an extra big cuddle, cause that makes everything ok šŸ˜

What an amazing day for us at the Aged and Disability Expo, held at the Entertainment Centre!

Our information stall and animal farm was a huge hit for visitors and providers alike, with everybody wanting photos with Bessie the Cow, Naomi the miniature Pony, Rusty the doggo, Lucky the Sheep, to our Rabbits and Guinea Pigs!

This was a fantastic opportunity to showcase our diverse range of services we provide, as well as networking with other providers throughout metropolitan Adelaide.

Here are some sneak peeks from a very successful day, showcasing our visitors to our staff. We will be emailing all visitors their photos over the coming days.

🌸 Meet Barbie 🌸

This beautiful lady is Barbie, and she has called the farm home for the past four years. Her gentle nature and strong personality have made her a favourite among our team — and yes, her son Phoenix lives here too!

We regularly lunge our horses as part of their exercise and training — but Barbie is such a superstar that she often takes herself for a run! You’ll see her kicking up her heels with joy, showing just how much she loves to move and stretch out.

If you’d like to meet Barbie or any of our other amazing animals, we’d love to welcome you to the farm! 🐓
