With very heavy hearts, we share that our beautiful Maremma, Georgie, passed away this morning 💔

On Sunday morning, our big larrikin managed to get through a temporary fence we had in place while we were digging holes and got out. We don’t know exactly what happened during that time, but we were able to get him back shortly after. He slept for most of the day, and by last night we knew something wasn’t right — he was very flat.

We took him to the emergency vet, where he stayed overnight receiving fluids and a blood transfusion. This morning, we were told he was bleeding internally and surgery was needed. Tragically, when he was moved onto the table, he went into cardiac arrest. The vet team were able to bring him back briefly so we could say goodbye, but he never regained consciousness.

We are beyond devastated. Georgie wasn’t just our farm dog — he was part of our family, he never quite realised how big he was and would still bound around like a giant puppy.

So many of you would have met him, cuddled him, or seen him being the big larrikin that he was. Poor Rusty, our other Maremma, took the brunt of it, as George loved to lay on him or chew his ears but Rusty was always so patient with him and they were always together. We are still in shock and heartbroken.

He brought so much love, character, and presence to the farm, and it won’t be the same without him. Thank you to everyone who has loved him along the way — we will miss him more than words can say 🤍

🍽️ Feeding Clinic is Here! 🎉
Mealtimes don’t have to feel like a battle. If your child is a picky eater, struggles with textures, or experiences anxiety around food, you’re not alone — and we’re here to help. 💛
At Pearsons Services, we use the SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) Approach to Feeding — a gentle, play-based method that helps children build confidence around food without pressure.
✨ Step-by-step, we support children.

Our team -speech pathologists Kylie and Cassie, work alongside families to create positive, supportive mealtime experiences — helping children grow, learn, and thrive at their own pace.
🌈 Let’s make mealtimes safe, successful, and even enjoyable… together.
📞 Ready to take the first step?
Call us on (08) 8322 2792 or email support@pahs.com.au to learn how we can support your child.

Speech Pathology… but not always at a table 🗣️🌿

Our Speech Pathologist, Cassie, currently has some availability — and we’ve got some flexible options to suit different needs.
Yes, we can absolutely do traditional “sit at the table” …but we also know that doesn’t work for everyone.

For participants who learn better by doing, Cassie can complete initial sessions and develop an individualised therapy plan. This plan can then be supported by an Allied Health Assistant under Cassie’s guidance and supervision, helping to build consistency and get the most out of your therapy funding.

Sessions can take place out in the community or even at our farm in Clarendon — because let’s be honest… who doesn’t love being out in nature, engaging with some very cute (and very curious) animals while working towards their goals? 🐑

Cassie remains involved to monitor progress and adjust supports as needed.
Because sometimes the best progress doesn’t happen in a clinic room.

All supports are delivered in line with NDIS guidelines and are focused on achieving meaningful, everyday goals.
If you’d like to secure one of the limited spots, ring 08 83222792 or email support@pahs.com.au — we’d love to chat.

🌿 We’re Hiring – Support Coordination Team (2 Roles)

Pearson’s Services is currently growing and evolving, transitioning from a family-run model as our Director begins to step back.

As part of this, we are strengthening our Support Coordination team.

We are currently hiring for:
• Support Coordination Manager
• Support Coordinator

These are permanent positions, based primarily at our office in Morphett Vale.

We’re looking for people who can start immediately or as soon as possible.

✨ Support Coordinator

No two days look the same — and that’s exactly how we like it.

You’ll be:
• Supporting participants to understand and use their NDIS plans
• Linking people with the right supports
• Coordinating services and problem-solving when things don’t go to plan
• Maintaining clear, accurate documentation
• Building strong relationships with families and providers

✨ Support Coordination Manager

This is a leadership role for someone who can guide a team, keep things on track, and step in when things get complex.

You’ll be:
• Supporting and mentoring Support Coordinators
• Overseeing caseloads and ensuring quality and compliance
• Assisting with complex situations and escalations
• Supporting team development and performance
• Working closely with leadership across the organisation

👀 What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for more than just experience.

• Someone who genuinely cares about outcomes for participants
• Calm, organised, and able to manage competing priorities
• Strong communicator who builds trust easily
• Honest and open, understanding your work impacts the whole team
• Solutions-focused — able to work through challenges
• Experience in Support Coordination (NDIS)

For the Manager role, we’re also looking for:
• Leadership experience (or readiness to step into it)
• Confidence supporting and guiding a team
• A strong understanding of compliance and quality

💛 Why join us?

We’re a down-to-earth team who support each other and get the job done.

Some days everything runs smoothly.
Some days require problem-solving, persistence, and patience.

Either way — the work matters, and you’ll be part of a team that backs each other.

If you’re experienced in Support Coordination and feel like you could be doing more, working differently, or being better supported — this may be the change you’ve been looking for.

🐐🌿 Farmer for a Day… and wow, what a hit!
We’ve been running our Farmer for a Day groups over the school holidays and they have been SO popular!

Honestly… what’s not to love?
The cutest animals you’ve ever seen + kids who love being outdoors, in nature and just being kids 🐓🌱

Our groups have been busy fully immersing themselves in the farm environment. So many skills learnt — teamwork, following instructions, communication, confidence, problem-solving, taking turns, building independence, and developing a real connection with animals and nature.

Some of the favourite activities include bottle feeding the Highland calves (including little Ronald McDonald 🐄), jumping and playing with our baby goats, meeting our Black Nose sheep, rabbits and guinea pigs… and of course, the star of the show — Kevin Bacon 🐖
From feeding animals, to exploring the farm, to learning how to work together as a team — it’s been so great to see friendships forming, confidence growing, and plenty of laughs along the way.

There’s something pretty special about kids being out in nature, running around, learning real-life skills… and of course, spending time with our beautiful animals 💛

We’re so glad to see how much everyone is enjoying it — and we can’t wait to run more!

If you’re interested in joining future groups, keep an eye on our page or reach out to find out more support@pahs.com.au

Looking for a Financial Officer…

Our Financial Officer has welcomed her baby 11 weeks early, and we’re happy to share that they are both doing well. With her heading off sooner than expected, we’re now a little under the pump and looking for someone to step in and support the team.

We are looking for a Financial Officer / Bookkeeper to join us in a permanent role, helping keep everything running smoothly across our services.
The position offers flexibility and can be tailored to suit school hours, part-time, or full-time availability for the right person. The role will include:

Reconciling accounts
Assisting with payroll
Assisting with billing and Xero
Accounts payable and receivable
Bank reconciliations
Processing invoices and following up outstanding payments
Supporting month-end processes and reporting
Maintaining accurate financial records
General financial administration

Experience within the NDIS would be highly regarded, however we can provide training for the right person.

Based at our Morphett Vale office, you will be supported with training to learn the role, alongside guidance and oversight from our external accountants. We’re a values-driven organisation supporting people in the community, and your role will play a big part in keeping everything on track behind the scenes.

If you’re reliable, organised, and ready to step into a role where you’re genuinely needed — we’d love to hear from you.

Email Karen.pearson@pahs.com.au with a cover letter and resume.

Yes, we used baby animals to get your attention. 🐐💛
Full disclosure — no daily animal duties here, but you will get the chance to meet them at our staff events.
