Emma Holdsworth - Counsellor and Doula Taking Care of Parents so that they can take care of their babies and children. Why would I work with you?

I provide nurturing care and emotional support to parents , so that they can provide that care for their babies and children. Babies and children thrive on nurturing, fulfilling and healthy relationships with their parents. For parents to meet that need, they need to be emotionally well and well supported to meet their own needs! I offer a unique blend of the professional emotional support of a qualified and experienced counsellor with the nurturing, hands on support of a doula. Some examples are;
- You are feeling anxious about your pregnancy or birth and would like support.
- You want in home care and support postpartum that focusses on your mental health, the emotional wellbeing of your family and your relationships.
- You would like someone to walk beside you throughout your journey from trying to conceive - pregnancy - postpartum - early parenting and beyond.
- You would like to work together with your partner to become the parents that your babies and children need to thrive. - get on the same page about parenting and work on your relationship.
- You would like to explore the deeper aspects of yourself and your past in relation to how you respond to your children.
- You have experienced a traumatic birth, difficult pregnancy, personal crisis or are grieving and would like to work through your experience.
- You are struggling to be the parent that you want to be, particularly in the first few years postpartum and want to work through what is going on for you. - What commitments can you make about holding space for each other’s emotional needs?
- Discuss how we were mothered and what impact that has on how we parent our children.
