We’re excited to announce that Dr Jeremy and Nurse Gabby are launching a Friday Acute Care Walk-In Service at Mortlake Family Medical Practice! 👨‍⚕️

No appointment needed - just drop in on Friday mornings if you can’t wait for the next appointment and need a check before the weekend.

🗓 Starting: Friday, 14th November 2025
🕘 When: Every Friday, 9:00am – 12:30pm (morning session only)
📍 Where: Mortlake Family Medical Practice
💳 Billing: 100% privately billed (no bulk billing available)

Dr Jeremy and Nurse Gabby can help with:
✅ Colds, coughs and minor infections
✅ Sprains, cuts and other small injuries
✅ Rashes or skin concerns

It’s the perfect option if you’re feeling unwell and need a quick opinion without waiting for an appointment.

Bulk billing will continue to be available Monday to Friday for the following eligible patients:
• Children aged 16 and under
• Pensioner Concession Card (PCC) holders
• DVA Gold/White Card holders (Veterans)
• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
• Health Care Card (HCC) holders
• Commonwealth Seniors Health Card (CSHC) holders

Last Friday, our Dr Jeremy () participated in the World's Greatest Shave to help and raise awareness to those affected by blood cancers. He raised an amazing $4500+.
Thank you to all those that donated and those who came down on the day.

Flu Vaccinations are now available!
Private flu vaccinations are $20 each.

The government will fund vaccinations for:
- Children aged 6 months to less than 5 years.
- Pregnant women (at any stage of pregnancy).
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
- People aged 65 and over.
- People with certain medical conditions that put them at increased risk of severe influenza and its complications.

It's that magical time of year when we swap out stethoscopes for Santa hats, and "rest and hydrate" becomes "eat, drink, and be merry!"
While you're decking the halls, just remember: laughter is great medicine, eggnog is not a hydration plan, and if Santa can fit down the chimney, you can absolutely fit in one extra walk this week.

From 1st January 2024, we are making changes to card transaction surcharges and our Saturdays.

The doctors will be the introducing a surcharge fee on all card transactions. Currently, the practice absorbs all card transaction surcharges. The surcharges (1.04% for VISA/Mastercard and EFTPOS is 0.30%) are calculated to cover the cost of processing your card transactions. We are committed to only passing on the cost of the card transaction, in line with the RBA rules.

We will also open every 2nd Saturday instead of every Saturday and, on those days, the doctors will be privately billing all patients. This means that concession card holders/bulk billing/children/pathology requests/referrals/telehealth will be privately billed on Saturday. We are making this change because of the increasing administration costs of opening on weekends. Mondays-Fridays will remain the same.
