🎢 Exciting news! 🎢
We're thrilled to share that our Music & Connection Time for Babies and Toddlers program has been successful in receiving funding through the Catalina Club’s ClubGRANTS program! πŸ’™

This initiative is a partnership between ABA Eurobodalla, Eurobodalla Helping Hands Program, and A Sound Nature: Music for Wellbeing, led by the incredible Kim Edgar-Lane, a local talented music therapist.

Together, we’ll be offering a nurturing, music-based group for local families with little ones. Music creates a powerful space for bonding, play, and emotional growth – for both children and their caregivers.

Helping Hands supports families across Eurobodalla, and we're so grateful for their ongoing support and shared vision. We’ve seen firsthand how music can help families feel safe, confident, and connected – and we can’t wait to offer this program to our community.

🎡 More details about how to join coming soon – stay tuned!

Hello everyone!

I’ve been quiet over the last year or so, I spent 2024 in Melbourne working in 2 music therapy jobs; as clinical specialist with Sing&Grow and as part of the team at TLC Music Therapy. It has been amazing to be part of a team of music therapists rather than on my own!

For this year though, I am back in the Eurobodalla and getting involved in the community - providing music therapy, community music and piano lessons. Do reach out if you’d like to know more.

Looking forward to making music with you 🎡🌿

Happy World Choral Day!

🎢 This is not a choir... this is so much more! 🎢
Happy World Choral day everyone!

Choral singing is a powerful tool for improving mental health. Singing together does more than create harmonyβ€”it lowers stress, activates the brain's reward network, and reduces cortisol levels. When stress goes down, well-being goes up. That's the magic of choral singing. 🌟

Celebrate by recognizing the incredible benefits choirs bring to mental health and community connection, and check out our latest research article here 'Singing Together: How choirs boost brain health and emotional well-being': https://loom.ly/MVBFXY8

Another step forward 🀞

The AMTA today had a constructive discussion with Minister Bill Shorten in relation to its concerns on behalf of thousands of participants, their families and music therapy professionals.

The Minister acknowledged the importance of music therapy as an evidence-based support and the critical work that our members do to improve functional outcomes for participants. We acknowledge the Minister gave us a fair hearing.

In a positive step forward, Minister Shorten acknowledged the importance and need for a fair and transparent review of music therapy to maintain and ensure the quality of therapeutic services being provided to participants under the NDIS.

We look forward to continuing to be consulted on this issue, including the development of a Terms of Reference for any review and input into a review panel that includes representation by women. The AMTA maintains that more time should be provided to enable a comprehensive review, consultation and decision making. On this basis we maintain there should be no changes to the pricing guidelines until at least July 2025. We anticipate further detail, from the Minister, shortly.

The AMTA is committed to the long-term sustainability of the NDIS and will always put the interests of the participants, their families and our membership first.
