Yumaro’s Supported Employment service operates 10 social enterprises providing meaningful permanent employment for over 100 people with a d

isability in horticulture, manufacturing, textiles, recycling, administration, marketing and community services. Home and Community Support
Yumaro’s Home and Community Support Service matches professional support workers to people with a disability to provide independence at home and in the community. Customised Employment
Yumaro’s Customised Employment programs engage and support people with a disability in employment with local businesses such as schools, hospitals and the Rural Fire Service. The service also supports individuals to establish their own micro businesses. Coordination of Supports
Yumaro’s Coordination of Supports service provides professional case management support to over 80 people with a disability. Yumaro is a registered charity providing a diverse range of innovative disability services to over 220 people with a permanent disability in the Eurobodalla and southern Shoalhaven shires. Yumaro’ Plan Management Service provides trusted financial management / bookkeeping support for over 80 participants NDIS plans. Specialist Disability Accommodation
Yumaro’s Specialist Disability Accommodation Complex in Moruya accommodates 7 people with significant disabilities and provides short term respite accommodation stays. Learning Centre
Yumaro’s Learning Centre provides a range of innovative disability specific educational programs (eg LLN, IT, driving skills, music, health and personal capacity building) that build the capacity of our participants to help them succeed in all aspects of life.

Over the past few weeks, our talented craft group has been busy bringing colour and creativity to life 🌼🌻—one recycled bottle top at a time! 🎨♻️

This fun and collaborative art project is coming together beautifully and will soon brighten up the Activities Room at our Shelley Road office. 🏡🖼️

On Tuesday, we came together to celebrate and farewell one of Yumaro’s longest-serving and most beloved team members — Peter Magnus, who dedicated over 27 incredible years to our organisation.

Peter was more than just a colleague — he was a friend, a mentor, and a true character who lit up every room he walked into. No matter your role, everyone at Yumaro knew Peter. His warmth, humour, and vibrant spirit left a lasting impact on us all.

A beautiful memorial was held in his honour, with a fantastic turnout of people who had worked with, supported, or simply loved Peter. So many shared heartfelt memories and hilarious stories that captured his unique personality and the joy he brought to everyday life.

*Hannah and Helen from Careaway
*Kylie from Nurse Next Door
*His housemate Cameron, plus Sarah from Murray Street,

Each person spoke with affection and humour, painting a picture of a man who was truly one of a kind. After the service, the room filled with conversation and laughter, as everyone continued to share memories and reflect on the incredible legacy Peter left behind.

He will be dearly missed but never forgotten — a true legend of Yumaro.

Rowan has been busy giving back and getting involved in some fantastic community activities!
He has been washing cars for our group programs in the Moruya Hospital car park, making them shine and a
sparkle.

After that, he headed to our Good Finds store, where he helped sort and organise books with care.

It’s always great to see our participants taking pride in what they do and lending a hand wherever they can.

We’re deeply saddened by the passing of Peter Magnus, one of our much-loved employees. His unforgettably funny and outrageous stories and interactions brought joy, warmth and laughter to everyone at Yumaro.

There will be a memorial service on Tuesday at 2:30pm at the Moruya RSL. He’ll always be remembered with fondness and love 💞

Yumaro completed a brand new accommodation facility in 2018 that incorporates 5 one bedroom units, a 2 bed respite unit, onsite carer accommodation and a 4 bed group home with 2 living areas and en suits to all bedrooms plus an additional onsite room for overnight support staff.
