My name is Melissa Duncan and I am an Independent Disability Support Worker and the founder of Meaningful Everyday Life Services - M.E.L.S. I have over 19 years of combined qualified experience working in the disability, mental health and education sector. I have been employed in a variety of roles including Disability Case Manager for DHHS (Now known as DFFH), NDIS Plan facilitator and Wellbeing coordinator at Morwell Central Primary School. I have a Bachelor's degree in Social Welfare and certificates in First Aid, CPR, diabetes, mental health and COVID19 Infections Control. I have completed further training in trauma informed practices, Zones of Regulation, anxiety, ADHD, ASD, mindfulness and behaviour management. I have a current Working with Children and police check. I have a non-restricted driver's license with my own car, which has full comprehension insurance. I am fully vaccinated against COVID19 and have professional indemnity & public liability insurance. I am reliable, hardworking, friendly and easy to get along with. I have supported people of all ages and with different types of disabilities and I ensure to give them my full attention and respect. I am based in Morwell and can work flexible hours to suit you and your needs. This could include weekdays, evenings, weekends and public holidays. I can support people of all ages and disabilities, with a NDIS plan, with minimal personal care required. At MELS we recognise that everyone has their own journey and support needs. We are always looking for new and innovative ways to support individuals and are committed to ongoing professional development, to ensure we provide the highest standard of care and support. We can also provide a variety of small group activities for increased social participation, locally and far and wide.
