We had a beautiful day for our VIBRATIONS 1-day Retreat on 24-Aug.

Our minds, bodies & souls were soaked in vibrational frequencies from Djembe drumming, time with the horses and a sound bath.

Participants dropped into the peace filled day with ease, and we've received some beautiful feedback.

I am deeply saddened after discovering the theft of a photo from The Stables. The image is of Dom and Nipper, two deeply loved deceased members of our herd, and obviously carries sentimental rather than financial value.

I'm sharing this post to ask that anyone who reads/sees this send the intention for its return out into the Universe. Am hoping the collective energy of doing so will see its return.

Seen here in a soaking boot, intended to help soften the foot and help the abcess find a way out.

Here at HCFH we are honoured to help anyone seeking support for loss, for grief.

About Us

Highlands Centre For Healing is a beautiful sanctuary on Gundungurra Country in NSW Southern Highlands. We are home to one herd of therapy horses (14 horses) and a second spelling herd (10 horses). We offer holistic wellness experiences for mind, body and soul through connection with our horses, nature and natural modalities.

The Role

Looking for a reliable, horse-loving person to support the daily care of our herds and property. This is a 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐊 𝐄𝐗𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐄 𝐏𝐎𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 – accommodation and food are provided in return for agreed hours of help. This is not a paid employee role.

This is not a job description, just indicative of tasks, some of which may be included:
• Feeding (1hr morning 30min lunch 1hr evening)
• Rugging (only a few horses, in winter)
• Picking up poo (approx. 1.5hr daily, not stabled generally)
• Bagging hay
• Grooming
• Walking minis in hand
• Riding – for person with right experience – kind, capable and confident at walk, trot canter. Educated horses, trail rides, paddocks (when it dries up enough)
• General property maintenance
• Support with groups of participants in workshops

Requirements
• Genuine love and care for horses
• Reliable & trustworthy
• Experienced with horses, and able to get to know each horse as an individual. You’ll need to feel comfortable going in with each herd.
• Capable of running property on own for a couple of days if needed.
• Attention to detail
• Physically capable & OK working outdoors in all weather
• Own transport (10 mins to town, no public transport)

What we offer
• Live in – off grid, in main house, food provided (vegetarian).
• Own bedroom & bathroom.
• All utilities included. Wifi provided.
• Opportunity to be part of something meaningful
• Potential for learning about holistic wellness practices
• Potential for own 1-bed accomm down the track

Hours required:
• negotiable.
• Potential for plenty of time off / time for other work.
• Prefer min 3 months commitment. Longer better.
• Short Trial period to ensure it works for both sides
• Start immediately

Other
• BYO horse (to live in herd). But I’m afraid no dogs, cats, other.
• Participate in workshops and retreats if you wish
• We know that many with mental health concerns are drawn to horses. You will need to be stable on this front.
• Unfortunately we do not qualify as being able to offer 2nd year Visa requirements
• References required

Grief can feel isolating, unexpected, heavy and sometimes like there's no end in sight.

If you are seeking comfort and a safe place to be following a loss, we'd be honoured to support you.

The first and often hardest step can be to take action; you are welcome to bring a friend.

This 90min group session will offer you a space to be. To be heard, if you wish to talk. Or the opportunity to be with others who understand if you prefer to be silent. Gentle activities may be suggested, wellness practices and ways to support the self offered.

Please know you are not alone. Reach out (DM or phone) if you feel called to.

𝐄𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠

The recent weather has been beyond revolting, but some brave souls have ventured out for pony love.

Our under cover spaces (inside the stables and under the arena roof) offer us the opportunity to keep going when the weather is bad, and we venture outside when the possibility presents.

If your loved one is seeking help with emotional regulation, setting boundaries, developing self-confidence and self-esteem, interest in healing from trauma, Equine Assisted Learning can be very helpful.

NDIS participants welcome. All ages. We'd love to hear from you if you have questions or would like to make a booking.
