Did you know that an estimated 1.2 million Australians have communication difficulties?

You probably know of Speech Pathologists seeing children who are late to talk, have a lisp or stutter.
However, communication is much more than speech!
Speech Pathologists also help with reading and writing, listening skills, understanding instructions, questions, engaging in a conversation or helping people express themselves in some way.
For some people, alternative communication methods are preferred such as sign language, pointing to symbols on a communication board or using an electronic communication device to send a message.

Speech Pathology Week is an opportunity to find out more!
See https://communicationhub.com.au/ for further information about communication difficulties and how to empower and support those affected.

Happy Speech Pathology Week!

This years theme is 'Communicate Your Way', because we all express ourselves differently - whether it's through speaking, signing, writing or using digital tools. Communication is key to connecting with others, making sure we understand each other, and building strong relationships.

Let's take this week to celebrate the many unique ways we communicate and shine a light on the diverse work Speech Pathologists do.

Stay tuned for most posts coming your way!

Originally from the Southern Highlands, I recently relocated from Sydney with my husband and 3 young boys.

I'm privileged to have started therapy with some beautiful families already this term and look forward to connecting with many more over the years.

Feel free to make contact if you would like to discuss a referral or have any Speech related queries.
