NDIS planning is changing – and it’s all about making things easier for you.

From mid-2026, a new planning approach will gradually roll out that focuses on your support NEEDS, not paperwork or reports.🙌🏻

These changes are designed to provide:

☀️Fairer, more consistent budgets
💙Simpler plans with more flexibility
☀️Fewer reports and longer plan periods
💙More time spent understanding your life and goals

These changes have been shaped by people with disability and their families, and they’ll be introduced slowly – so many participants won’t see changes straight away.

There is no need to do anything, these changes are not coming until mid-2026 and more information will come over the next few months.

Check out the NDIS website to learn more.👏🏻

I mean… could there be a truer statement?

It certainly is that time of year when we have no idea what day it is or what we should be doing with our time, except for being blissfully unaware of everything.💙

How do you feel in this time between Christmas & New Year?👇🏻

Christmas brings excitement, celebrations… and a lot of change…

For many neurodivergent people (or people who cope best with a predictable routine), disrupted routines can feel overwhelming.🤯

Different schedules, new environments, extra noise and social demands can all impact regulation and wellbeing.

We know how hard it can be managing a change in routine, especially during the festive season.

And as you all know, we can plan ahead. We can try keeping parts of regular routines where possible and we can rely on tried and tested supports. ✔️

But, we just wanted to remind you that it’s okay to go slower. It’s okay to opt out. It’s ok to keep to your everyday routine and work out celebrations around those.💙

However you can create a Christmas that feels safe and manageable is what is most important.

Tell us, do you have any tips & tricks for others trying to navigate this time of year?👇🏻

Trying to work out if Speech Pathology is for you or your child?

Speech Pathology or Speech Therapy is the study, diagnosis and treatment of communication disorders.🗣️

This includes difficulties with speaking, listening, understanding language, reading, writing, social skills, stuttering and using the voice.

Speech Pathologists work with people who have difficulty communicating. These difficulties can be for a variety of reasons:

💬developmental delays
👂🏻stroke
💬brain injuries
👂🏻learning disability
💬intellectual disability
👂🏻cerebral palsy
💬dementia
👂🏻hearing loss

They can also help with functional issues of the mouth and throat, so helping people who experience difficulties swallowing food and drink safely can also be helped by a speech pathologist.

Do you engage the services of a Speech Pathologist? If you know an incredible Speech Pathologist,🏷️tag them below!👇🏻

End of Year = Big Feelings

If your child is feeling more emotional, tired, or overwhelmed lately, you’re not alone. End-of-year fatigue and changes to routine can be really hard on our kids (and on us as parents too).💙

A little extra patience, predictable routines, quiet time, and lots of reassurance can go a long way right now. Some days won’t be perfect and that’s okay.

At Rise & Shine Plan Management, we support families through seasons like this. If your child has NDIS supports that help with emotional regulation, therapies, or daily routines, we’re here to help you manage the admin so you can focus on your child.

You’re doing your best, and that is more than enough.

If you are a parent that has navigated the dreaded changes in routine and the fallout, what tips or tricks helped you?👇🏻
