A free respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccine is now available for pregnant women.

RSV can cause serious illness in newborns. It is recommended that pregnant women receive the vaccine between 28 and 36 weeks in pregnancy (preferably 28 weeks). The RSV vaccine can be given at the same time as other pregnancy vaccines such as the whooping cough (pertussis) vaccine.

Vaccines given in pregnancy will help your baby get off to a healthy start in life from day one.

A message from Dr Kek.
Dear Patients, Colleagues, and Friends,
After over 40 incredible years as a General Practitioner at Mt Druitt Medical Centre, the time has come for me to hang up my stethoscope and retire. It has been an absolute privilege to serve this community since 1984, and I am deeply grateful for the trust you have placed in me over the decades.
Throughout my career, I have had the honor of caring for hundreds of patients—many of whom have become like family and close friends. Your stories, resilience, and kindness have touched my life in ways I could never have imagined. Together, we’ve celebrated joys, navigated challenges, and built relationships that I will cherish forever.
While I will miss the daily interactions and the privilege of being part of your healthcare journey, I am confident that you will continue to receive exceptional care from the talented and compassionate team of GPs at Mt Druitt Medical Centre. They are committed to upholding the same standard of care and dedication that you have come to expect.
As I step into this new chapter of life, I carry with me countless memories and a heart full of gratitude. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your lives. It has been an honor and a joy to serve you.
