Well, its been an interesting couple of days since this video https://youtu.be/Z0Z2jBeL870 was released on youtube. As of a few minutes ago it had been viewed over 9900 times - I feel a good result when you consider it is way too long (It actually was originally filmed as a 55 minute video, but I gradually edited the script and refilmed 7 times to get the final product. Anything less than the 23 minutes was just not going to get out there what I wanted to say). The response has been 99% overwhelmingly positive, and 1% overwhelmingly negative! So to all those who emailed me with messages of support and thanks (even offers to help me pay my legal fees!), I say thank you. I apologise that I cant reply to everyone, that would be a mamoth task.
I had one response from a person in Germany who relates to me her experience with her child who had suboccipital strain from birth (KISS syndrome - Kinematic Imbalance due to Suboccipital Strain). This is what she wrote (I received her permission to share this)

I have just seen your impassioned video about the recent bullying your profession has received, via a friend of mine from Ballarat, on Facebook.I am an Australian (Melbournian) who has lived in Hamburg for 15 years, prior to that in London. Our daughter was diagnosed over 10 years ago, with Sensory Integration disorder, whereby her ability to process sensory information is distorted. She was diagnosed early, and during that process, and subsequent treatment, a psychiatrist suggested she be checked and, if necessary, treated for KISS syndrome (she had a long and difficult vaginal birth). The adjustment was gentle (she was certainly not distressed by it). However what´s important is that the recommendation was from a medico (psychiatrist), and the adjustment was made by a paediatric chiropractor, and totally paid for from our (public) health insurance here in Germany. I am quite surprised by what you report is going on in Australia. My mother lives in Mt Martha - however I only visit Australia every few years these days after not living there for 25 years, so I am not aways abreast of what´s happening there. Good luck with your quest in arguing against the bullying you report. However rest assured that in other parts of the world the medical and chiropractic professions are working in a more co-ordinated fashion, certainly here in Germany. It is sad to have to set each other up as competitors - surely a co-ordinated complimentary approach would be the best for the patient? It certainly was for our daughter (who is now in mainstream school, is a champion swimmer, and in 97% percentile height wise for her age; she is very fit, strong, healthy, happy and concentrating well at school).

I found it very interesting see what is happening in other parts of the world. The Medical Doctor I refer to in the video , DrBiedermann, is from Germany.

I also wanted to mention the video recently released by the CAA. I am not sure how many of you have seen it. It is on chiropractic care for children. I do not know how I missed it. It was released 2 weeks ago, but the first time I saw it was today. It is excellent. In my opinion, there is no more powerful tool than having a bunch of people tell other people, how great chiropractic is. I LOVE THIS VIDEO! The great thing is - it is FULL of testimonials. I thought we weren't allowed to do this. It must be that the CAA is as an organisation, and is therefore are allowed to? If you haven't seen it, it is well worth a look. I'm going to send the link to all of my patients. I really believe this is something the CAA needs to do more of. Harnessing the power of the very loyal patients that we have all over Australia.
Here is the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7olBgc8e4AU

Over the last weeks (and months), I have consistently tried to look at the positives. This was sometimes very difficult! However I DO believe that this pressure we are currently experiencing will make us stronger as a profession. It will force us to 'raise the bar' in terms of our management of children. And in the end, provided we can withstand the current onslaught, we will be a stronger, more unified profession.

Thanks
Dr Glenn Maginness

Dr Glenn Maginness

Dr. Glenn Maginness is a 1987 chiropractic graduate from Melbourne, Australia who completed a three year Masters Degree in Chiropractic Paediatrics at R.M.I.T. University in 1998. Glenn has held over 40 of his own paediatric focused seminars throughout Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and the U.K. (England and Scotland) since 2003. In addition to this, he has spoken at numerous seminars around the world over the last 20 years. He is a frequent speaker at the Dynamic Growth seminars held for many years in Australia and New Zealand, and he was also the keynote speaker at the UCA Spring Conference in London in April 2006 and again in March 2014. Glenn was also a keynote speaker at the I.C.A. Paediatrics Conference in Las Vegas in October 2013.

While Glenn spends considerable time every year presenting to chiropractors from all over the world, he is still practicing and since 2003 has seen only children as patients. He started his own clinic in 1987, and has since built one of the largest family practices in Australia with currently six chiropractors on his team.

Glenn launched his Online Paediatric Program in 2013, and this program has since become one of the most widely accessed paediatric training programs in the world. This 100% online program with now over 200 videos is currently helping chiropractors from all over the world to achieve greater paediatric certainty by specifically addressing all aspects of the paediatric experience, including the assessment, adjustment and management of the paediatric patient.
