Munro Geological Services is calling for Expressions of Interest for DIDO Geological Field Assistant roles in NSW. We're working across the Cobar Basin and Lachlan Fold Belt on gold, copper, and polymetallic projects. We are keen to support individuals taking their first steps into the exploration industry and mentor experienced Fieldies looking for new opportunities. Great experience for those on a gap year.

What we're looking for:
✅ Experienced geological technicians (coreyard or field-based) looking for a role with a supportive company.
✅ Individuals looking to gain some experience and mentorship in an entry level role.
✅ Individuals who are motivated, reliable, and keen to learn, with a current driver's licence and own vehicle.
✅ First aid, CPR, and forklift ticket — highly regarded

MGS Fit Testers will be in Orange, NSW on Wednesday 8th April to undertake mask fit testing and silica awareness training. Under Safework NSW legislation any worker exposed to high levels of silica dust are required to have a mask fit tested by a trained fit tester and undertake training that meets the silica legislation guidelines. MGS is delivering approved respiratory mask fit testing and training in the following locations:

West Wyalong: 11th and 12th December 2025.

Orange: 15th December 2025.

If you have workers who are exposed to silica dust, ensure they are protected and meeting WHS requirements for respiratory PPE. Whether you work in mining, exploration, construction, agriculture or other industries that are exposed to silica dust.

Are you our next Geological Field Assistant Superstar?

MGS is looking to recruit for approximately 6 -9 months a geological field assistant who can assist on an exploration (gold/copper) project in the West Wyalong/ Temora regions on NSW. The role is 12 days on 9 days off. 10 hour days. While on site your accommodation will be provided and you will be issued with a daily meal allowance.

You will need a Drivers licence and aa car and preferrably a current First Aid CPR certification and forklift ticket.

The role is drive in and out, but preferably you will reside no more than 3 hours from West Wyalong or Temora (NSW).

You will need to undergo a medical including a drug and alcohol test and be physical fit for the role.

The role includes mainly manual handling tasks with some data entry work.

Munro Geological is recruiting 2 Geological Assistants to be based in Western Sydney. The contracts start ASAP and go until end of financial year. No experience needed, however a forklift licence and first aid certificate is advantageous as is experience labouring or working in a warehouse environment. We are looking for staff who will work well in a team as well as show initiative and be able to work independently as well. Today was a beautiful day. Munro Middle Child and Ex MGS Fieldy Ellie visited one of our favourite Geologists (they are all my favourites) families who live in Nepal. Ellie is now a nurse and is volunteering in Nepal this month. What a lovely family. We thank them for supporting their son in his dream of being a Geologist in Australia. We have had some fabulous Geologists come from Nepal.

10 -12 hour days. 12/9 roster.
First aid and a forklift license is preferred.
You need to be 18, have a drivers license, be physically fit, self motivated and can pass a drug and alcohol test.
Experience in this line of work preferred, but on the job training and online training can be provided.
Accommodation and a food allowance also supplied.
