Good morning everyone

Nominations close on Tuesday 10 February 2026 at 5pm for the 2026 SA First Nations Voice to Parliament Election.

Please go to our website https://www.savoiceelection.sa.gov.au/nominations to download the forms to complete and email completed forms, photo and your ID to the nominations team at ECSA ecsa.nominations@sa.gov.au

Please remember:

To be eligible to be a candidate, you must be:
• An Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person; and
• 18 years or older; and
• On the South Australian electoral roll; and either
• Enrolled within the region you are nominating for;
OR
A traditional owner in relation to an area (located wholly or partly) within the region you are nominating for.

For ECSA to accept a nomination ECSA require:
• Completed nomination form
• Completed police check form (unless someone has had a recent one completed between September 2025 and now)
• 2x forms of ID for the police check
• A colour photograph of their head and shoulders for the ballot paper

Please remember to nominate ECSA require all documents, ID and photograph to be submitted to ECSA before 5pm on Tuesday 10 February 2026.

If ECSA do not receive enough nominations then a region can have positions filled without an election, this is called elected unopposed.

Time is running out to nominate as a candidate in the 2026 SA First Nations Voice to Parliament Election. Nominations are now open and close in a week’s time.
