Today, Wednesday 13th of May, we continue to celebrate the people who are the glue that hold us together.

Happy Receptionists Day!

To our incredible reception and administration teams across Village Medical, we thank you for the countless things you do every single day, many of which happen quietly behind the scenes.

Thank you for always being the calm in the chaos.
For greeting every patient with kindness and warmth, even on the busiest of days.
For managing full waiting rooms, constant phone calls, unexpected challenges and emotional situations with grace and professionalism.
For supporting our doctors, nurses and one another without hesitation.

Medical reception is so much more than answering phones and booking appointments. It is compassion, patience, resilience, organisation, empathy and a whole lot of heart.

You are often the first point of contact for people who may be unwell, anxious, overwhelmed or vulnerable and the way you care for them matters more than you probably realise.

We see the effort you put in.
We see the pressure you work under.
And we see how deeply you care about our patients and our community.

Thank you for everything you do, not just today, but every day.

We appreciate you more than words can say

Today, May 12 is International Nurse Day

Not all heroes wear capes. Some wear scrubs and spend their days caring for others.

Nurses are there for life’s most emotional moments - the scary ones, the heartbreaking ones, and the hopeful ones too. They comfort people when they’re vulnerable, advocate when someone feels lost, and somehow continue to give so much of themselves, even when they are running on empty.

What makes nursing so special isn’t just the clinical skill or medical knowledge. It’s the humanity behind it. The ability to make someone feel safe, heard and cared for during moments they may never forget.

Being a nurse is not easy. It takes patience, resilience, compassion and an enormous heart. And while no words could ever fully capture the value of what nurses do, today we want to recognise and celebrate every single one of you.

To our incredible nurses across Village Medical Centre, Village Medical on Helen and Village Medical on Jubilee we thank you for showing up every day with care, strength and compassion. Our patients, our clinics and our community are better because of you 🌼

At Village Medical, we kindly ask that all new patients arrange for at least a medical summary to be forwarded to our clinic prior to their first appointment where possible.

Access to your medical history, medications, allergies, and recent investigations allows our GPs to provide safer and more comprehensive care from your very first visit.

We understand that some patients, particularly former patients of Opendoor Health, may currently be experiencing difficulty accessing their medical records. Please be assured that we have raised concerns regarding access to these records through multiple avenues and with higher authorities in an effort to assist affected patients.

Unfortunately, despite exploring a number of options, we have so far been left without a successful resolution.

Our team will continue to do what we can to accommodate affected patients where possible.

Patients experiencing ongoing difficulty obtaining their records may wish to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner for guidance and support regarding access to health information:
www.oaic.gov.au

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to support continuity of care for our community.

We promote and uphold your rights to access government-held information and have your personal information protected
