Happy Hour at On Statenborough retirement living had a special twist recently, as the community came together to celebrate Resthaven’s 90th anniversary! 🥂

Dementia Action Week (15–21 September) is a time to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and support people living with dementia.

When Mrs Helen Doley, 86, was diagnosed with dementia last year, she chose to move into Resthaven Westbourne Park – where she continues to live life to the fullest.

From crafting and volunteering to staying active in her community, Helen hasn’t let her diagnosis define her: 'I still do everything I’ve always done … I love life.'

Earlier this month, Resthaven Westbourne Park brought Royal Adelaide Show excitement to the site community! 🎡

Over a few fun-filled days, everyone enjoyed:
🐐🐥 Cuddling farm animals from Old MacDonald’s Travelling Farm, including ducks, rabbits, lambs, and goats!
🎪 A 'show day' extravaganza with stalls, games, clown costumes, a selfie wall, and tasty treats.
📖 A fascinating presentation about the history of the Royal Adelaide Show.

The festivities ended with everyone receiving a classic show bag to top it all off!

Recently at Resthaven Mount Gambier, staff brought in their furry (and fluffy) friends for a special pet meet-and-greet with residents. 🐾

From Labradors to Pomeranians — and even a rabbit! — the visit was filled with cuddles, laughter, and plenty of wagging tails. 🐶🐰

When Mrs Ann Berresford heard her fellow residents at Resthaven Bellevue Heights needed a few sewing jobs done, she knew just what to do — she asked her son to bring in her vintage Singer sewing machine. 🧵

A talented dressmaker since childhood, Ann has enjoyed creating beautiful and intricate pieces over the years (📸 like this stunning blue ballgown!). Now, she generously offers her skills to fellow residents, doing small alterations and repairs free of charge. 🙏🏼
