At 40 years old, I decided I didn’t want to just draw stick figures, flowers, stars, and little houses anymore.

I’d always wanted to create something more artistic, but I never thought I could.

So instead of spending my spare time scrolling, I started watching YouTube tutorials and learning how to draw eyes. It's not perfect but it's a great deal better than where I was when I first started.

Honestly, scrolling can take up so much of our real lives.

Time that could be spent learning a new skill, building our dreams, creating something meaningful, or simply being more present in nature.

I don't want to get to the end of my life and say "well, at least I scrolled a lot".

So what’s something you’ve been wanting to learn?

Maybe you could turn scrolling time into learning time too.

When you turn 40 people will tell you that it's all downhill from there, that you can't do the things you used to do, and that your body will start to fail you.

It's important that you don't listen to those people!

At 41, I am feeling stronger than I ever have especially after losing 21 kgs of stuck post partum weight.

But you DO have it use it or you WILL lose it.

Some people don’t start, not because they don’t want to… but because they don’t know where to start.

It feels overwhelming. Complicated. Like you have to change everything overnight.

But you don’t.

If I were to guide someone wanting to improve their weight and fitness, I’d keep it simple with 3 things:

šŸ’Ŗ Awareness
šŸ’Ŗ Nourishment
šŸ’Ŗ Movement

Start simple.

Awareness

Track what you eat for a week or two. No judgement, just awareness.
Use an app like MyFitnessPal to scan or log your food (don’t forget sauces and cooking oils).

This gives you a clear picture of what you’re actually consuming each day.

Nourishment

Focus on adding more real, whole foods to your meals.
Reduce packet foods where you can and build meals from foods in their natural form.
Think protein first. It helps keep you fuller for longer (and has plenty of other benefits too).

Movement

Move your body daily. It can be as simple as a walk.
If 10,000 steps feels like too much, aim for 2,000 more than you’re currently doing.
You can track this with a watch or apps like Strava or MapMyWalk.

You don’t need to overhaul your whole life overnight.

You just need to start paying attention and building small habits you can actually stick to.

Most people don’t fail because they’re lazy…
They fail because they try to do too much, too fast.

Get your food foundations in place first, so when you’re ready to increase exercise, your body is properly supported.

Consistency will change your body.
Consistency will change your mind.
Consistency will change your life.

Make it a lifestyle, not a short term goal.

Small changes lead to big change 🌷

I had many women reaching out recently after seeing my latest progress photos, asking what I have been doing and that they are inspired to move their bodies more and change their eating habits.

So I have created this for anyone that wants to also read about what I did to get the kilos to budge and to get my fitness back after my 2nd daughter.

I am not a personal trainer so I don't go into what exercises to do, but I do reference accounts you can follow and join their apps.

I am thankful that I have learned a lot over the years so I put together my own programs. But I do believe it is a good idea to follow a structured plan. So hopefully one of those accounts resonate with you.

And this right here is why I never rush my sessions.

I truly value having the space and time to sit, connect, and chat with my clients before and after their treatments.

Often, people share parts of their lives that not many others get to hear, and I feel deeply honoured to hold that space.

For some, they don’t have many people around them anymore, and this time together becomes a moment of real connection.

What a blessing it is to be there for someone in that way.

Do you like talk during your massage or drift off?

I personally love to zone completely out, allowing my mind to rest as well as my body.

Did you know staying quiet during your massage can actually help deepen your experience?

🌿 It helps your mind slow down, so your body can fully relax

🌿 You become more aware of how your body feels and releases tension

🌿 It allows your therapist to tune into your body’s natural cues

🌿 Less talking = fewer distractions = deeper healing

🌿 Creates space for emotional release in a safe, calm environment

Some people chat because it helps them relax… or because they’re not used to slowing down. And that’s completely okay too.

I do encourage you at your next massage session to explore gently surrendering to the silence (always speaking up about pressure of course) … as you might be surprised how much more deeply rested you feel after your session.

I always take time to connect before and after your session, so you feel heard, supported, and cared for.

At the end of the day, it is your session.

So whether you prefer quiet or conversation, I'll meet you exactly where you’re at 🌷
