We asked Dr Jane to share her 3 top tips for new parents struggling with their mental health.
1- Make self-care a priority, not an afterthought. It is easy to focus on your children's needs and forget about your own but in the long run, this will likely lead to burn out. Go to that gym class, book that coffee date or take 5 minutes to simply reset.
2- Being a new parent can feel lonely, exhausting, and like you’re the only one who doesn’t have it figured out. But you’re not alone, so many parents feel the same. You're doing better than you think.
3- If you're struggling, reach out for help. We are often led to believe that mothers “should” do it all. Nothing could be further from the truth! We are all social beings, and everyone needs a village.
