Happy Term 2! We’re so excited to welcome all of our wonderful clients back to the clinic and into schools this week. 😊

💫 Professional Development Update 💫
Georgia recently travelled to Adelaide to complete training in orofacial myology with the Australian Orofacial Myology Collaboration (AOMC). This specialised area focuses on the assessment and treatment of oral and facial muscle function, including breathing, chewing, swallowing, and speech patterns.

This additional training has further strengthened Georgia’s skills in supporting a wide range of client needs, and she’s looking forward to bringing this knowledge into her sessions to continue providing high-quality, evidence-based care.

Our wonderful speechie, Georgia, attended the Let’s Get Enrolled Expo with BUSHKids yesterday to showcase the early intervention supports and services available for local families in Mount Isa.

What a great way to begin 2026, connecting with families and community services, and chatting all things speech, language and early supports. 🗣️🧠

Yesterday we had the pleasure of partnering with Moments Grow to deliver our Prep for Prep presentation at one of the Cloncurry Kindergartens we support.

During the session, we touched on:

💬 Amid a national shortage of speech pathologists or 'speechies', service providers in North West Queensland are coming together to explain how to seek help. 🗣

👉 The message from speechie Georgie Garvie is to come down and say hello, learn about the services available, and get on the wait lists as soon as possible.

"What we try to say to parents is to put your name on all wait lists," she said.

"The point of us bringing awareness to speech pathology is also bringing awareness to early intervention."
