Mount Louisa Medical will be closed on Monday, 26 January 2026, in observance of Australia Day. Normal operating hours will resume on Tuesday, 27 January 2026. Please plan accordingly, as the return of schools on Tuesday is expected to cause increased traffic congestion on Bayswater Road near the practice.

Following the public holidays and doctors' leave, we appreciate your patience as we return to normal operations. Appointments are available starting Monday; however, the GP you typically visit might have limited availability upon their return due to prior commitments. Our reception team is readily available to assist with any inquiries you may have.

For medical needs, the Urgent Care Centre is available, alongside Mater Emergency's private billing and the Emergency department at TUH. Bookings for MLMC can be arranged online, and we request that cancellations be made if attendance is not possible to facilitate access for others.

⚡ Important Notice – Scheduled Power Outage ⚡

Mount Louisa Medical Centre (along with all other businesses in our area) will be closed on Tuesday, 23 September 2025 due to a scheduled power outage.

The outage is expected to last up to 9 hours (though we have been advised it may only be around 5 hours). Unfortunately, we have not been told exactly what time of day it will occur.

📞 During this time, our phones will be diverted to practice mobiles. We kindly ask for your patience when calling, as we will only have two phone lines available.

Mount Louisa Medical Clinic highlights the vital issue of ovarian cancer, which affects approximately 1,815 women in Australia each year. Unfortunately, most cases are diagnosed at an advanced stage, making treatment more difficult.

At Mount Louisa Medical Clinic, we are committed to raising awareness about ovarian cancer and its early symptoms to improve early detection. Knowledge is key, and through education, we aim to make a difference in the fight against this disease.

As February is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, we encourage you to join us in spreading awareness and advocating for early detection. If you have a family history of ovarian cancer, speak with your doctor about risk management options.
