Feel like you’re reacting to everything? Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) is a chronic immunological condition where mast cells inappropriately release excessive histamine and other chemical mediators, causing severe, recurrent, and multi-system symptoms similar to allergic reactions.
The question is, what triggers MCAS in the first place? When our body is overburdened with toxins, inflammation and chronic stress, our tolerance to allergens, fragrances and other chemicals reduce as our body struggles to filter these toxins.
I often see mould exposure, chronic infections, prolonged chemical exposure and trauma playing a key role in the development of MCAS.
