It’s world dog day… our beautiful Kylo came to us when he was a little older than 1. Now 3 years old, he is an important part of our lives.
I love how pets can bring out the best in us. Have you noticed how some dogs are in tune to our emotions?
If Kylo is in the office with a client who is upset Kylo will often go up and give them a lick or sit on their feet. This sense of his, really intrigues me.

Heart breaking… I thought that Australia was more inclusive and kind. I truly expected that the Uluṟu Statement of the heart and recognition in our constitution of First Nations people would be a referendum that would pass.
Let’s be kind and thoughtful to the First Nations people, no doubt they will be feeling a sense of hopelessness. Hopefully not despair.

Years ago we were on a holiday in Chiang Mai and came across the MATOOM ART SPACE. We walked out with smiles on our faces and a few prints under our arms, by the artist Chumpol Taksapornchai.
This one has been in my office when I worked in a school and is again in my private practise office. It’s called ‘’Waiting in Awareness”, & I love it. I feel like it expresses the work of therapy for both the counsellor and the client.

P.S. I’m not a huge fan of the word client, sounds too clinical, if anyone reading this post has a recommendation for a replacement word, please comment below.

I went to an information seminar yesterday about the referendum. It was helpful to hear first hand about the value that a yes vote will be for all of us. I’m looking forward to living in a world that is hospitable and inclusive to all. This addition to our constitution will be another step towards this.

So…. It’s officially official…
After 15 years working as a counsellor in a large secondary school I’ve set up a private practise.
